* by Caccini is one of the most beautiful music for Hail Mary hymn and It's hard to believe it was composed more then 400 years ago. In 1853 Ch. Gounod made variation on the 1st prelude of Bach 's "Well-tempered Clavier" for violin and piano and six years later the words to * song were added and this made this piece so popularJohann Pachelbel canon in D composed in or around 1680 is the most widely used, recorded and recognizable instrumental work of all time. The words to * song were taken from Sir Walter Scott's poem The Lady of the Lake and Adam Storck wrote the German translation Franz Schuber used for his song. In the end of XVI century Giulio Caccini composed the music for Hail Mary - traditional Catholic and Eastern Orthodox prayer calling for the intercession of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Originally * song was titled "Ellens dritter Gesang" (Ellen's third song). I often asked myself how the great composers would have sounded and arranged their music if they live now days and have new instruments, new technologies and ours furious pace of life? Great and absolutely contemporary music wich inspire us to create this almum.Franz Schubert's * song was composed in 1825. These thoughts resulted in creation of my own version of * and rendition of Caccini, Bach-Gounod and Schubert' * song. This Schubert's * version include both Latin and original German lyrics. The person responsible for setting the * lyrics in Latin remains a mystery to this day.
