Nocturne Album Title With this new programme of Chopin's works for cello and piano Truls Mørk returns, on disc, to chamber music, a genre he is acknowledged for world-wide. Although Chopin mainly composed for the piano, the other instrument he showed real interest in was the cello. To quote Grove: "Chopin sometimes gave the cello the same type of dark, rich melody that he used for left-hand melodies on the piano." The programme couples two works originally composed for cello and piano: the late cello sonata with the Introduction and Polonaise brillante.
