| H Biber Missa Salisburgensis (2008) (Import)
Makoto Sakurada Performer
$27.15 Eight vocal and instrumental choruses sang and played this ostentatious work for the recording made at the Festival di Musica Sacra di Trento in 2003. He wrote his sacral work for Salzburg Cathedral and the pieces boast a close relationship to the cathedral's architecture; Missa Salisburgensis is the most famous example of this spatial musical art and was written for fifty-three voices! This is a Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players.
Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber is today considered the most important exponent of early South German Baroque: his operas and religious works however almost faded into obscurity. Missa Salisburgensis has now been released as a surround sound CD.
