Business Days top
Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday only. If you place an order before 12:00 PM on a business day, it will process the same day and ship according to the availability of the items ordered. However, if you place an order after 12:00 PM, it will not process until the following business day. Orders placed after 12:00 PM on Friday, or at anytime on Saturday and Sunday are processed Monday morning.
Product Availability top
We work with an extensive network of the entertainment industry's leading suppliers in order to offer our customers an unparalleled selection and the lowest prices on all music, movies and video games.
Some of these items are stocked at our location, but most are stocked at our distributors' warehouses. Each morning, we process status updates from our suppliers reflecting the product that they had in their warehouse at the end of the previous business day. From this data we determine products’ availabilities and selling prices. We always offer the best price based on our suppliers' current availability.
Each business morning, we update our product availability to one of the codes below:
||The item is not yet released. Pre-orders are usually shipped the day prior to street date.
|Usually ships in 1 day
||The item is currently in our warehouse. Unless we unexpectedly run out, this item usually ships in 1 business day.
|Usually ships in 1-2 days
||The item is currently in our supplier's warehouse. Unless they unexpectedly run out or there was an error, this item usually ships in 1-2 business days.
|Usually ships in 1-2 days (only 1 available)
||The item is currently in our supplier's warehouse, but there is limited stock. Items with this availability are more likely to change to backordered status after order placement.
||The item is currently not in stock. Some backorders come in the very next day, some within a few days, and some never come in. Those that do arrive often arrive in 3-10 days. We will try to get the item for 45 days, after which it is automatically cancelled. You can cancel backorders online using the Your Account button on the top of any page.
||The item is currrently discontinued but there is a limited quantity available.
Note: Please remember these codes are estimates and that on occasion a distributor may provide us inaccurate data or unexpectedly run out of a specific product. All product availability estimates consider business days only. Although your credit card is not charged until items ship, an authorization request for the full order is made shortly after it is placed.|
Ships Today top
Items which display the "Same Day Shipping" icon are available for immediate shipment.
In order for your "Same Day Shipping" item(s) to ship the day the order is placed, you must remove any item(s) with a stock availability other than "Same Day Shipping" and order them separately.
Items ordered after 3PM EST will ship the next business day via the method you select. "Same Day Shipping" items will not arrive the same day it is ordered. Shipment arrival is dependent on the shipping method you select.
Backordered Items top
Backordered items are out of stock with all of our suppliers. We will try our best to obtain these titles for up to 45 days from when you place an order. Unless an order is placed for a backordered title, we do not actively try to obtain it through our suppliers. We provide a link on all backordered items' webpage that allow for an email notification to be sent to you once the status of the item changes. However, this does not guarantee receipt of the item.
There is no definite shipping date for backordered items and we are unable to predict a shipping time frame for specific titles. On average, backorders normally arrive within 1-3 weeks. When additional items ship, the shipping charges incurred depend on the shipping option that you chose at order finalization. You can cancel any backorder items at any time by using the Your Account button on our home page. Any items that cannot be filled within 45 days are automatically canceled, and we notify you by e-mail.
Item Quantity Limits top
Our website is designed to limit all purchases to maximum of twenty units per item. If you would like to place an order for more than this limit, please contact our customer service department at 1-800-231-7937 or 203-294-1648 Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM EST for assistance. Since we are a retailer, we do not offer wholesale prices or bulk order discounts.
Canceling an Order top
Removing unshipped items from an order or canceling an entire order before shipping is easy. Begin by clicking the Your Account button on the top of any page and log into your account. Select the order you wish to review and press Show Order. When the order displays, click the Cancel Order or Other Options link.
If you wish to remove specific items from your order, check the box next to the appropriate item and press the Cancel button. Or, click the Cancel Entire Order link to cancel all items on that order.
Pre-Ordering New Releases top
For music or movie items with a Tuesday release date, place your order by 12:00 PM EST Friday and it will usually ship on Monday. Video game releases may not ship until 1-2 days after the release date.
New releases are treated like backorders when placed in advance. Please remember that all release dates are tentative, as supplied to us by the distributor, and may be delayed beyond our control.
Pricing Information top
We do our best to ensure the accuracy of the prices we display on our website. On occasion, we may get incorrect prices from our suppliers, which results in a pricing error, an incorrect description or a mismatch between product descriptions and the price on our website.
Prices and availability of products and services are subject to change without notice. Errors will be corrected where discovered, and CD Universe reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions including after an order has been submitted and whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. CD Universe reserves the right to either honor only one unit at the erroneous price, or cancel the incorrectly priced item on your order, based upon our discretion. We may also give the option for you to continue your order for the item at the corrected price. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, CD Universe will issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in accordance with CD Universe's Return Policy.
