Number of Media (Shipping Units) top
The amount you are charged for shipping depends on the number of media on the order. In general, the number of media will be the same as the number of discs on the order. An individual CD, DVD, or video game is considered one shipping item while an accessory product, because of their larger size, may be considered as two shipping items. The number of media for an item is listed under the detailed information section of a product's webpage.

Item Availability + Shipping Method = Estimated Delivery Time
Unfortunately, choosing a faster shipping method does not alter the availability time of any item. Next to each shipping option (when placing your order), an estimated shipping and delivery date range will be given.
Shipping Options top
For orders with multiple items, in addition to choosing a shipping method, you will be asked to choose a shipping option. On most orders, we recommend selecting "Ship Together" and have set this option as the default.
The "Ship Together" option allows 3-5 business days for delayed or backordered items on your order to arrive from our suppliers so that we can send your order in as few shipments as possible. If the items do not arrive within this time frame, we will ship the readily available items separately. Although your order may still arrive in more than one shipment, your shipping costs will not exceed the quoted price at order finalization.
The "Ship Together" option is not available for orders that contain a mix of available items and pre-orders whose release dates are more than 10 business days from the date the order is placed. These orders should be split into separate orders or shipped as they become available.
Ship As Available
The "Ship as Available" option may be selected if you wish to have items shipped to you as soon as they arrive from our suppliers (or if your order contains a mix of available and pre-order items). This option allows readily available items to be delivered faster, but you will incur shipping charges for each shipment. Shipping is charged only for those items that are sent, but actual charges for shipping the order may vary based on the number of actual shipments sent.
When extending the order expiration date on an order that contains unshipped backordered items, the Shipping Option will automatically be set to “Ship As Available” and you will be subject to additional shipping charges when those items ship to you. Extending an order that has not partially shipped does not affect your shipping option selection.
The estimated delivery date range on the Ready to Finalize Order page gives the approximate dates that your order may arrive to you. Unfortunately, on rare occasions, unexpected delays or loss may occur while your shipment is in transit.
Orders that are shipped via UPS, FedEx, and USPS Express can be tracked by logging into your account under the Your Account button at the top of the page. Before reporting trackable shipments as lost, please check with household members, neighbors, mailroom clerks, leasing office attendants, etc., to see if they have signed for the package in your absence. Also, drivers sometimes leave packages at front or back porches, garages, behind bushes, or secure, out of public sight areas.
For non-trackable shipping methods, our policy is to wait 15 business days before declaring a United States order lost. We wait 30 business days for shipments outside the United States, including APO/FPO addresses and US territories (Guam, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, etc.). If you are not in the United States, we recommend that you check with your local postal or customs office, as many times an order is held there.
If your order has not arrived within these time frames, please contact us and be sure to include your order number.

The chart below details shipping charges and policies within the United States. This includes the continental 48 states, Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO’s, US possessions and territories. Connecticut addresses will be charged an additional 6 percent sales tax.
APO/FPO Note: The Second Day and Next Day shipping options are not available to orders being shipped to APO/FPO zip codes due to heightened postal security regulations.
The charges listed below are per shipment, not per order. When subsequent pieces are being shipped on a split order, standard shipping will be used regardless of the shipping method used for the initial shipment.

All shipments with a value of $150 or greater (within the continental USA) will be sent via UPS or FedEx and will require a signature for delivery. These orders must be delivered to a physical address and will not be shipped to post office boxes or APO/FPOs.
In most cases, orders shipped to states close to our shipping warehouse in Connecticut may arrive faster than the time frames outlined for standard, expedited with tracking, and Second Day. We will display estimated delivery times and date ranges next to each shipping option on the "ready to finalize order" page.
Standard: Your order will be sent via US Postal Service, UPS, or FedEx based on the size and weight or your order. Standard Shipping is the most economical shipping method and typically takes 3-8 business days from the shipping date to arrive.
Standard With Tracking: Your order will be sent via UPS or FedEx based on the size and weight or your order. This service typically takes 3-6 business days from the shipping date to arrive
Expedited With Tracking: Your order will be sent via UPS or Fedex. Expedited shipping typically takes 2-3 business days from the shipping date to arrive. This option is not available to Post Office Boxes or APO/FPO addresses. UPS determines the signature requirement based on drivers' discretion.
Second Day: Your order will be sent via UPS. 2 Day shipping typically takes 2 full business days from the shipping date to arrive. UPS 2 Day shipping cannot be used for orders shipping to Post Office Boxes and Saturday delivery is not available. A signature is required for this type of shipment.
Next Day: Your order will be sent via UPS Next Day Saver. Next Day Shipping typically arrives by the end of the next business day from the shipping date. Next Day shipping cannot be used for orders shipping to Post Office Boxes and Saturday delivery is not available. A signature is required for this type of shipment.
International Shipping & Handling top
CD Universe can ship your order to almost anywhere in the world. Remember that you are responsible for any taxes, duties, or customs fees charged by your local government. We must place a green customs sticker on all international orders. This sticker lists the contents as "Audio Compact Discs". We must fill in the value of the order on this sticker (shipping charges are excluded). We cannot declare an incorrect value on your shipment, and all packages must be declared as merchandise.

Don't forget to add appropriate delivery time for your postal systems delivery and customs inspections. This may add 2 weeks to the delivery time.
Standard*: Standard is the most economical international shipping method and typically arrives at your local post office 7-21 business days from the date shipped. This service will deliver your order to your local post office and does not provide tracking once your order has been shipped. Tracking is generally not available. We may upgrade packages to another service when package is of high value or under other conditions.
Priority*: Your order will be sent via FedEx International Mail Service (FIMS) or Global Priority Mail via the United States Postal Service (USPS), or First Class Mail International (USPS). These shipments typically take 6-10 business days from the date shipped to arrive at your local post office. Priority International service does not provide tracking of your order once it has been shipped.
Express International**: Express service is only available to select international customers and is our fastest shipping method. These shipments are sent via UPS Worldwide Express or FedEx International and arrive to you in 1-3 days from the date shipped. Saturday delivery is not available for international express shipments. A signature is required for all Express International deliveries.
International shipments with a merchandise value greater than $125.00 USD will be automatically upgraded when possible from Standard or Priority to Fed-Ex International Economy, UPS Worldwide Expedited, or USPS Express mail at no additional charge (shipping costs are excluded from merchandise value). Packages under this value may also be upgraded. These shipments are delivered by a FedEx, UPS, or local postal service driver and require a signature for delivery. FedEx International Economy, UPS Worldwide Expedited, and USPS Express shipments provide tracking of your shipment with a tracking number that can be accessed through your account.
** In order to deliver your order in the quickest possible time, FedEx and UPS normally pay any applicable customs fees and value added taxes up front, and then send a bill to you at a later time. These fees only apply to customs and taxes, and no additional shipping charges are included.

- International customers are responsible for all local import fees and duties associated with your order. Check with local authorities concerning any applicable taxes, duties, and/or customs delays before placing your order. We are not responsible for any of these fees or delays.
- Some countries place restrictions on certain imports, and some of these imports are banned altogether. Please check with your local authorities before placing an order. While we can refund the merchandise cost if an item is returned to us due to import restrictions, we cannot refund the shipping and handling charges. In some cases, customs officials will confiscate the restricted items, in which can we cannot refund the merchandise or the shipping and handling costs.
- When ordering internationally, please be patient for the arrival of your order. There are many delays that may occur that are beyond our control caused by such things as weather, language barriers, duties, taxes, import restrictions, and customs services. Please be understanding of this complex operation and allow 30 business days before declaring an international shipment lost in transit and requesting reshipment.

Unfortunately, due to increased costs and increased risk we have determined that we can no longer afford to ship video games outside of the United States, with limited exceptions.
