Doble Tributo A Camilo Sesto Y Rafael album
$12.95 This live album from singing tour de force Rance Allen and his brothers Tom and Steve Allen epitomizes the power and grandeur of gospel music. Doble Tributo A Camilo Sesto Y Rafael CD music
$38.49 Includes liner notes by Rob Partridge, Rita Marley, Derrick Morgan, John "Rabbit" Bundrick and Timothy White.
During his all-too brief life, Bob Marley established himself as one of the giants of modern music; he stands on par with the likes of Miles Davis and Bob Dylan, performers who took established musical forms and revolutionized them, who continually evolved their vision throughout their careers. From his first single, the bouncy "Judge Not," through a loose, live rendition of the haunting "Redemption Song" performed at his last stage appearance, SONGS OF FREEDOM documents Bob Marley's musical legacy better than any previous compilation, and probably, better than any likely to come.
Marley was at his peak at the time of his death in 1981, meaning there is no filler or weak material here, only four solid discs of great songs. His philosophical evolution is easily seen: listen to a rude-boy anthem, like the ...

Doble Tributo A Camilo Sesto Y Rafael album
$13.39 Helena Noguerra possesses the kind of voice that draws you into her songs, wrapping you in warmth and caressing you with a soft touch. Her previous two albums under her own name (and with Philippe Katerine producing and writing the songs) were bewitching exercises in soft-focus sweetness. For Fraise Vanille, Helena didn't use Katerine's production or songs. Instead the album is a tribute to the composer Serge Revanzi, the go-to composer for the French New Wave of the 1960s. His songs are simple pop tunes with lilting melodies that are perfectly matched to Noguerra's airy, sweet vocals. She and co-producer Sébastien Martel give each song an individual touch, sometimes veering into deep left field (like on the freewheeling trombone and snare duet of "La Vie de Cocagne") but never losing the intimate charm she instantly creates when she opens her mouth to sing. This attention to sonic detail means that despite the overall restraint shown by both singer and musicians alike, the ...
| | Atlantis CD (1973) Bonus Track
Doble Tributo A Camilo Sesto Y Rafael CD music
$15.05 Atlantis' debut album follows firmly in the footsteps of the earlier Frumpy, with one major difference: shorter songs. Just three of the seven tracks break the five-minute barrier, only one -- the defiantly Deep Purple jazz-rocky "Living at the End of Time" -- approaches ten. But Atlantis rises regardless. The closing ballad, "Words of Love," essentially ...
