Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Director's Comments THE BLOB is one of the quintessential films for lovers of those science-fiction/horror/monster/camp films of the 1950s. A red, gigantic, gooey, gelatinous glob arrives from outer space and proceeds to terrorize a small town. The more it eats, the more it grows. Local teenagers, who have witnessed its obscene display of hunger, are ignored until it seems that it's too late. Can the local bad boy (Steve McQueen, in his first leading role) save his 'burb from the sinister slime--and reform himself in the process? A perennial favorite of Saturday afternoon horror shows, the film is still a joy to watch, as the young McQueen battles his parents and the big protoplasmic hunk of Jell-O. Film debut for actor Steve McQueen, where he was billed as Steven.
The Laserdisc edition is 15 minutes longer, and contains interviews and trailers.
The film came from an idea by Irvine H. Millgate.
Color by DeLuxe. Shot at the Valley Forge, Pennsylvania studio.
This is the only Aneta Corseaut video. Stars also making their debut in this video: John Benson, Earl Rowe. Blob Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Steve Mcqueen Vs. The Blob! Steve Mcqueen once again proves his versatility as an actor in this low budget movie,"The Blob". The message of this movie seems to suggest an unwillingness of authority to take our teenagers seriously when it comes to an alien making a visit to our planet and consuming every living organism in it's way. Can you blame them? The movie was fun to look at because it was a time of innocence. McQueen was cool as he always is in every movie that he was casted in. The movie has a great sound track. Great actors, a good story line
made this movie a classic. They just don't make "scifi" movies like this today. So if you want to go back to a time when things were simple, check out The Blob. A good escape movie! Submitted by jwilson_54 (Norfolk, VA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

$10.09 Don Siegel's cult masterpiece, interpreted as an allegory of both McCarthyism and Communism, is undoubtedly one of the screen's most disturbing evocations of paranoia. It stars Kevin McCarthy as Dr. Miles Binnell, a physician whose traumatized arrival in the emergency room of a San Francisco hospital leads the staff to believe he's lost his mind. In a series of flashbacks, he unwinds a bizarre account of his last few days. After his return from a trip to rural Santa Mira, his nurse, Sally (Jean Willes), explains that his office has been flooded with patients who have made appointments yet never appeared. Former girlfriend Becky Driscoll (Dana Wynter) tells him that she's unable to rid herself of the belief that the man claiming to be her uncle is an impostor. A hysterical young boy refuses to return home, claiming that his mother is not his mother. Miles's concern over this pattern of incidents, temporarily allayed ...

Blob DVD
$31.25 FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS is a whirlwind of a movie, a wacky, drug-laden story backed by a fist-pumping rock & roll soundtrack featuring everything from Wayne Newton and Tom Jones to Combustible Edison and Dead Kennedys. Journalist Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp) heads to Las Vegas to cover a motorcycle race, bringing along his Samoan lawyer, Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro), in this furious adaptation of the book by Hunter S. Thompson. It is 1971, and Duke and Gonzo are on their way to Sin City with a frightened hitchhiker (a nearly unrecognizable Tobey Maguire) and a trunkful of drugs, which they ingest nonstop. Depp is terrific as Duke, Thompson's alter ego, and Del Toro is a riot as the crazy lawyer. To perfect his Thompsonian performance, Depp spent a lot of time with the good doctor, and it paid off in a film that captures the frenetic pace of the counterculture novel. Director Terry Gilliam, a master of complex, bizarre visual imagery, has a field day interpreting the drug-hazed world in which Duke and Gonzo reside. An all-star cast chimes in with wonderfully offbeat bit parts, including Harry Dean Stanton, Gilliam regular Katherine Helmond, Flea, Cameron Diaz, Ellen Barkin, Christina Ricci, Gary Busey, Lyle Lovett, and others.
When a writing assignment lands journalist Raoul ...

Blob movie DVD
$9.69 Beginning with a documentary style that immediately hooks the viewer, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, based on the Harry Bates short story "Farewell to the Master," becomes as much a human interest story as it does a sci-fi B-movie classic. The film soberly depicts the arrival of an alien dignitary, Klaatu (Michael Rennie), who has come to earth with his deadly robot, Gort (Lock Martin), to deliver the message that earthlings must stop warring among themselves--or else. After being shot at by ignorant, panicky military guards, Klaatu is brought to a Washington, D.C., hospital, where he begs a sympathetic but frank Major White (Robert Osterloh) to gather all the world's leaders so he can tell them more specifically what he has come 250 million miles to warn ...

$31.25 Akira Kurosawa's stunning reconception of Shakespeare's MACBETH is a dark samurai drama, set in feudal Japan. As the film begins, two soldiers--Washizu (Toshirô Mifune) and Miki (Minoru Chiaki)--find themselves lost in a dense forest during a powerful thunderstorm. Seemingly unable to leave the woods, they encounter a ghostly old woman who predicts that Washizu will soon rise to power. At the goading of his ruthless wife, Asaji (Isuzu Yamada), Washizu embarks on a murderously ambitious path and quickly fulfills the prophecy. However, his ascension is cursed by his brutal actions and soon opposition arises to challenge his blood-stained rule.

$15.19 Shia LaBeouf (CONSTANTINE, I, ROBOT) is a young talent to be reckoned with, as he demonstrates in this genre-spanning film from director D.J. Caruso. Part teenage romantic comedy, part horror flick, DISTURBIA stars LaBeouf as the troubled Kale, who is confined to his home under house arrest after he punches out his Spanish teacher in the middle of class. Kale's array of available diversions dwindle considerably after his mom (Carrie Ann Moss, MEMENTO) shuts off his X-Box and his i-Tunes, and he turns to voyeurism instead, carefully noting the daily activities of his neighbors. These include the swimming schedule of the hot girl who ...
