Second Audio Track; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re Directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi (who also created the best-selling series of video games that inspired the film), the groundbreaking FINAL FANTASY, which stars a startlingly lifelike cast of animated characters, is the first photo-realistic computer-generated feature film ever made. In the year 2065, Earth has been taken over by a race of alien phantoms and transformed into a barren wasteland sprinkled with dome-enclosed barrier cities--the last remaining bastions of human civilization. Dr. Aki Ross (voiced by actress Ming-Na) has teamed up with Captain Gray Edwards (Alec Baldwin) to search for the "eighth spirit," a powerful entity dwelling in an unknown life form somewhere on the planet. It holds the key to perfecting a system of energy waves that will neutralize the phantoms. Ross's opponent is the reckless General Hein (James Woods), who is determined to put a stop to the alien invasion by firing a satellite cannon directly into a nest of phantoms located deep within the Earth, even though this could mean obliterating the planet itself and all life upon it. It rules. The CGI animation was perfect
for a movie like Final Fantasy, and the
storyline was great. It was complicated,
but understandable. I loved it. Submitted by a reviewer (Washington, PA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Just didn't live up to the hype There was so much hype around this movie that I was ranting and dying to see it but it was in the end disappointing, Not visually though beatiful eye candy. But the battle were alright and voices were good so it get's a four Submitted by FFFreak (waitforAdventchildren) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A favorite of mine. -Many- people I know complained that this wasn't typical Final Fantasy. That's true. It's more realistic than any FF you'll play, not only in the way it looks but in storyline. The characters are believable, and there is no magic to speak of (meaning, no Firaga, no Ultima, no Float...), and no massive battles. Well, that's a lie, there are battles, but no the kind we FF otakus are used to. Anyway. The characters are deep, and the voices are excellent. They look absolutely real, and the storyline is very sad. It's absolutely worth getting, not to mention the extras like the Outtakes and Thriller video make it hilarious when it's an otherwise somber movie. Submitted by Liz (Texas) Was This Review Helpful? $13.55 The first of three prequels to George Lucas's celebrated STAR WARS films, EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE is set some 30 years before the original STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE in the era of the Republic. Naboo, a peaceful planet governed by the young but wise Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman), is being threatened by the corrupt Trade Federation, puppets of an evil Sith lord and his terrifying apprentice, Darth Maul (Ray Park). Jedi knights Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor, performing an amazing vocal imitation of Alec Guinness, the older Obi-Wan) are called on to intervene in the trade disputes. Along the way, they acquire an apprentice of their own in the form of young prodigy Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), or as STAR WARS fans know him, the future Darth Vader. They also encounter Jar Jar Binks (Ahmed Best), a goofy, lizardlike creature who has been banished from his underwater world for clumsiness. When the Trade Federation ...

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within review
$9.29 Flanked by fabulous computer-generated battle scenes that would make BRAVEHEART proud, THE MUMMY RETURNS is a fast-paced sequel that surpasses the hit 1999 original, both directed by Stephen Sommers. Virtually the entire cast has come back for another exciting go-round, this time trying to prevent Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) from gaining control of the Bracelet of Anubis and taking on the Scorpion King (the Rock) for control of the world. But to gain that power, Imhotep and his vicious true love, Anck-Su-Namun (Patricia Velasquez), must get to the Oasis of Ahm Shere before Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser), his wife, Evie (Rachel Weisz), their son, Alex (Freddie Boath), the mysterious Ardeth Bay (Oded Fehr), and Evie's brother, Jonathan (John Hannah, who provides much of the comic relief). Set in 1933, THE MUMMY RETURNS combines ...
