Elvis is still in the building
With the exception of, Viva Las Vegas, Baby I Don't Care, Blue Suede Shoes and Blue Moon Kentucky or Kentucky Rain; this compilation covers all the songs I knew and some I didn't know that made him king.

ELV1S 30 #1 Hits: A no-doubt-about-it must!
"ELV1S 30 #1 Hits" is one landmark album that features all of the King's #1's together at last. It's a defenite must for your collection and everybody should have it! The sound has been restored and remastered to sound crystal-clear, state-of-the-art, nothing-else-like-it sound.

ELV1S is the 1!
The best Elvis CD there is out there! It stayed at #1 for three weeks. This week (October 25, 2002), it's at #3.

Great!
Even though I was only mssing 2 songs from this disc, (Way Down, Fool Such As I) I adored listening to it, mostly because of its sound quality, Wonder Of You is clearly another take, (different lyrics) but even though mostly everything here is released, I recommend this CD to any Elvis fan.

Elvis IS Still The KING!
This CD is a MUST BUY! It is short some of Elvis's other greats, but it is worth every penny. Every song included is actually from their original recording time frame.

NOT the original versions
A Fool Such As I and A Big Hunk of Love are NOT the hit versions. They are alternate "takes." I'm not so sure of Crying in the Chapel and The Wonder of You.

Don't worry!
I know that there is a lot of controversy surrounding this release due to the word "remix" used in the advertising, and I must admit that I was a little nervous about it myself.

.02/23/05 Hi, 1) The company must now make a decision about which way they should go-on to Mordor directly, or to Minas Tirth. Which way do you think they should go, and why? A: I think that the company should go to Minas Tirth.

ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits buy CD music Don't let the title fool you; after listening to The Only Doo-Wop Collection You'll Ever Need, you'll definitely want more. This is a good starting point for the curious, since all the basics are here in the original hit versions: "The Great Pretender," "Earth Angel," "I Only Have Eyes for You," "Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight," and, thrown in for good measure, a few tracks that even vocal group scholars wouldn't mind hearing again by the Marvelows, the Duprees, the Jive Five, and the Earls. While this is an excellent primer, the best representation of vocal group harmonies of the era remains the lavish (and pricey) 101-track Doo Wop Box on Rhino. ~ Al Campbell 2cds-Del Vikings/Platters/Dion & Belmonts/Five Satins/Spaniel Liner Note Author: Billy Vera.

ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits songs Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc. Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini. Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, and Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, although these collections are still worthwhile as of-their-time retrospectives of John's work. ~ Heather Phares All tracks have been digitally remastered.

ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits album for sale This compilation is just what it says: number one hits on the American charts from the 1960s. It has a leg up on some similar anthologies, though, by virtue of its sheer quantity: 26 songs spanning the entire decade, which is pretty good value for a single CD. While it's true the selection is a little arbitrary, on the whole it's really good, and whether you care about chart statistics or not, it's an excellent disc if you're looking for an all-purpose collection of 1960s pop/rock classics. There are many core classics here, spanning rock, soul, pop, and the British Invasion: the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations," Del Shannon's "Runaway," the Marvelettes' "Please Mr. Postman," Martha & the Vandellas' "(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave," Manfred Mann's "Do Wah Diddy Diddy," the Mamas & the Papas' "Monday, Monday," the Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City," the Box Tops' "The Letter," the Troggs' "Wild Thing," the Temptations' "My Girl," and Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine." Actually, if there's one complaint, it's that British artists are only represented by those Manfred Mann and Troggs cuts. But even the less-critically canonized, poppy hits here are for the most part indisputable classics: the Turtles' "Happy Together," Tommy James & the Shondells' "Crimson and Clover," the Monkees' "I'm a Believer," the Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense and Peppermints," the Association's "Windy," Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe," and more. It's like a double-dozen dose of number one hits from oldies stations without the commercials or any of the clunkers that happened to reach number one by chance. ~ Richie Unterberger Recorded between 1961 & 1969. ELV1S: 30 # 1 Hits songs This collection perfectly captures on a single disc the career arc of one of America's most important pop groups. Stuffing 30 songs into a small space, SOUNDS OF SUMMER checks in with these West Coast sunshine pop wizards at each phase of their development. There's the early chicks-and-cars, Chuck Berry-influenced material ("I Get Around," "Little Deuce Coupe"), the surf songs on which the Beach Boys' early reputation is based (the genre's national anthem "Surfin' Safari," the surprisingly transcendent "Surfer Girl"), and more. Of course the celebrated "teenage symphonies to God" era is covered nicely, with such untouchable moments as "God Only Knows," "Good Vibrations," and "Wouldn't It Be Nice." The fact that the band didn't dry up and blow away after the 1960s is not lost on SOUNDS OF SUMMER either, as witnessed by the inclusion of Chuck Berry cover "Rock and Roll Music" and the latter-day summer-fun hit "Kokomo." Recorded between 1962 & 1988. Includes liner notes by Anthony DeCurtis. 30 track collection Personnel: Carl Wilson (vocals, guitar); Dennis Wilson (vocals, drums); Dean Torrence, Al Jardine, Mike Love , Brian Wilson (vocals); David Marks (guitar). Audio Remixer: Mark Linett. Liner Note Author: Anthony DeCurtis. Recording information: 1962-1985. The Beach Boys: Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, David Marks. Producers include: Brian Wilson, Murry Wilson, Nik Venet, Steve Levine, The Beachboys.
