Animated; Additional Footage; English Subtitles; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; Limited Edition; Special Edition Another visually sensational animated film from the producers of the acclaimed "Akira."
Major Motoko Kusanagi is a beautiful cyborg who works for Section 29, Japan's secret police force, in the year 2029. Motoko's supervisor, Aramaki, orders her to find Puppet Master, a sinister computer terrorist created by a rival organization.
Helping her is fellow cyborg Bateau and the almost entirely human agent Togusa. Because their prey has the ability to hack into the minds of his enemies, the evil villain must be stopped as soon as possible.
But as the tough cops close in on their target, Motoko realizes that she and Puppet Master seem to have a lot in common. The makers of "Akira" present another milestone Japanimation epic in this futuristic odyssey about an elite half-cyborg female agent sent out to apprehend a cyber-genius data thief who is plundering the very contents of people's minds. Contains nudity and violence. The Collector's Edition includes a special 30-minute documentary on the making of the film. Shown at the 1996 Berlin and South by Southwest Film Festival.
Released theatrically in New York City March 29, 1996.
Produced by Kodansha in association with Bandai Visual and Manga Entertainment.
James Cameron, who directed such science fiction movies as "The Abyss" and both "Terminator" films, had this to say of "Ghost in the Shell": "Stunning... the first truly adult animation film to reach a level of literary and visual excellence... an important visionary work."
Voices: Richard George (Bateau); Mimi Woods (Major Motoko Kusanagi); William Frederick (Aramaki); Abe Lasser (Puppet Master); Christopher Joyce (Togusa); Mike Sorich (Ishikawa); Ben Isaacson (Nakamura); Hank Smith (Minister); Steve Davis (Diplomat); and Phil Willimas (Willis).

Superb anime For fans of anime, it doesn't get much better than this. "Ghost" is the one that started it all in America. Superb artwork, superb story. Can't wait till they make Ghost in the Shell 2 into a movie! Submitted by a reviewer (Springfield, IL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Excellent UMD too bad they left out the Japanese audio! Awesome they put it on UMD, but too bad they left the original Japanese audio with english subtitles out! Big mistake, and I'm really dissapointed. If you don't mind english audio get it! If you do mind don't bother. Submitted by Scott (United Kingdom) Was This Review Helpful? it found a voice... it found a body... what next? Masterfully executed, superbly rendered. This is as close to top-flight anime as can be found. I do miss the Shirow Masamune touch, but admittedly, this may not have garnered the accolades it did if it was left too close to the manga.
The video transfer is excellent. No discernable line noise, colour-banding issues, or panning stutter. The colour is vibrant; the contrast solid.
The audio is also very good. My only issue was during a moment between Batou and Kusanagi on the boat just prior to sensing the "ghost". The english voice talent made the scene too confrontational instead of quiet introspection as the japanese script seemed to call for.
I can't wait for the continuation. Submitted by mataal (Scarborough, Ontario, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

$23.45 Directed by animation legend Hayao Miyazaki, SPIRITED AWAY is the tale of Chihiro (voiced by Daveigh Chase), a young girl who is taken down an unusual road by her parents while moving to a new home in an unfamiliar town. The curiosity of Chihiro's mother (Lauren Holly) and father (Michael Chiklis) leads the reluctant child into what appears to be an abandoned amusement park. Soon her parents are greedily feasting on various delights from an enticing food stand and are literally turned into pigs. The frightened and bewildered girl then encounters a young man named Haku (Jason Marsden), who explains what she must do to navigate this strange and magical realm. Finding employment in a bathhouse for spirits and other odd characters--including kimono-wearing frogs, lumbering tentacled monsters, and a mysterious apparition named No Face--Chihiro attempts to figure out how she can free her parents from the clutches of the resort's owner, a powerful witch named Yubaba (Suzanne Pleshette). In the process, she makes some very eccentric friends--and has to deal with some notoriously stinky customers.
A surreal adventure reminiscent of Lewis Carroll's ALICE IN WONDERLAND, SPIRITED AWAY continues Miyazaki's streak of groundbreaking animated films that also includes PRINCESS MONONOKE and MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO. Succeeding MONONOKE as the most successful film in Japanese cinema history, this charming movie follows its own bizarre yet engaging logic as it reveals a cast of fascinating characters and jaw-dropping settings through stunningly beautiful hand-crafted animation. A movie experience like no other, SPIRITED AWAY is sure to enchant audiences of all ages, leaving viewers grinning with a giddy sense of wonderment.
A girl follows her parents into an abandoned amusement park and is whisked away to a magical place.

Ghost In The Shell review
$23.85 A science fiction family drama cum comedy, this is one of the most popular shows in television history. A by-product of the nation's obsession with the "space race" as well as the popularity of the family situation comedy, the futuristic show followed the adventures of an extended family, including a robot, sent to open a portal to Alpha Centauri, the only other known habitable star system. They are waylaid, however, by the evil Dr. Smith, who is accidentally taken along for the ride, and the group ends up encountering all sorts of unknown and more or less unfriendly life forms in their attempts to get home again. Episodes include "The Questing Beast," "Mutiny In Space," "Trip Through The Robot," and "The Astral Traveler."

| | Andy Milonakis Show - The Complete First Season DVDs (2005) Full Screen
Ghost In The Shell movie DVD
$21.19 Equal parts irritating, endearing, and hilarious, Andy Milonakis has honed his hyperactive, ADD-addled adolescent persona into an art form. There is much confusion among his fan base as to whether Milonakis is, in fact, a precocious if crazy teenager, or rather a 30-year-old with a medical disorder that makes him appear much younger. Either way, the fact that this is a genuinely debatable question is a testament to the carefully constructed character he plays on his offbeat, bizarrely funny MTV show. Whether he's accosting random strangers in the street to ask about his socks, wearing a pancake, or holding a funeral for a piece of ham, Milonakis's comedy is oddly mesmerizing. The show's first season is included here in its entirety, along with unaired sketches, interviews, and commentary.
