Suit up for classic comedy! When Doctors Venkman (Bill Murray) and Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Spengler (Harold Ramis) suddenly find themselves downsized from the university's parapsychology department they decide to go the entrepenurial route chasing down ghastly ghosts unappetizing apparations and the occasional insolent succubus. But the paratroopers of the paranormal face their greatest challenge when the beautiful Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) discovers her refrigerator door leads directly to the gates of hell! Now with the whole world watching it's up to the Ghostbusters to keep Manhattan from becoming a madhouse in this hilariously haunting action-comedy! Runtime: 105 minutes. Rated PG. When Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murrary) and his Columbia University colleagues (Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson) are kicked out of their prestigious academic posts, they start a private practice as professional ghost-catchers. Although the three parascientists are idle for awhile, their television advertisements finally pay off when beautiful Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) contracts them. It seems her apartment has become the entryway for ghastly ghosts and goofy ghouls hellbent on terrorizing New York City. Soon they're going to her rescue, trying to rid the city of the slimy creatures. GHOSTBUSTERS hit US screens in June of 1984 and went on to become one of the most successful comedy films of all time, spawning a sequel and a popular animated series. The screenplay for "Ghostbusters," written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, is said to take its premise from the Michael Winner-Jeffery Konvitz' 1977 feature film "The Sentinel." Ghostbusters Reviews: "...It's Murray's picture, as the popular comedian deadpans, ad libs and does an endearing array of physical schtick....Weaver is deliciously sexy..."
-- Lor., Variety "GHOSTBUSTERS is still a rounded, rousing entertainment."
-- Andy Webster, Premiere "What turned GHOSTBUSTERS into a classic was director Ivan Reitman's ability to stir genuine ghoulish scares into the clever dialogue and funny bits."
-- Paul S. Katz, Entertainment Weekly 3.5 stars out of 4 -- "An 80s phenomenon and classic comedy, with Bill Murray upstaging everything in his path..."Premiere Ghostbusters | List Price | $14.94 (You save $4.65) | | Studio | Sony Pictures Home Entertainment | | Orig Year | 1984 | | All Time Sales Rank | 32164 | | CD Universe Part number | 6900759 | | Catalog number | 11796 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Aug 02, 2005 | | Rating | PG (MPAA) | | Running Time | 105 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen | | Movie Details | Color; Digitally Processed; Widescreen |
Ghostbusters Movie Review Classic Comedy It's an oldie, but a goodie. I love it, and the my kids love it. Rick Moranis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are hilarious. Great music, effects, and a zany storyline bring it all together. Submitted by tom.harding (Nova Scotia, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful. One of the best comedies of all time. There wasn't a dull/un-funny moment in this movie, from the libray scene at the beginning to Mr. Stay Puft. Whenever I watch it, it still gives me a good laugh. If you appreciate good comedy, I recommend this item. Submitted by beeverdenatdejazzd.com (Ephrata, PA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful. $14.85 Loosely inspired by the time-honored Disney theme-park ride, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL is a swashbuckling high-seas tale directed by Gore Verbinski. When Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), an eccentric rogue, arrives at Port Royal, he barely avoids going down with his ship. Soon enough, he's in the market for a new one, but not before he saves the life of Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), the beautiful daughter of the governor (Jonathan Pryce). This act of bravery sets into motion a sweeping adventure involving Elizabeth's childhood friend, blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom); a mysterious medallion; and a legendary pirate ship, the Black Pearl. The Pearl's mottled Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) wants Elizabeth's doubloon necklace, and when she's kidnapped by the ol' salty dog and his crew, Sparrow and young Will must rescue her and find out the truth behind the ship's curse.
Verbinski's PIRATES is a welcome throwback to Hollywood offerings of yesteryear, filled with rope-swinging heroes, crusty villains, treasure hoards, swift swordplay, and even wittier wordplay. Screenwriters Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott have crafted one of the most clever action-movie scripts in many moons, and this gives the filmmakers and cast (especially Depp) plenty of room to cut loose. Although the skeletal pirates may be a bit frightening for small children, there's lots of humor to temper the scary moments, making PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: THE CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL a nearly flawless fun film.

Ghostbusters movie DVD
$10.29 In the 1950s a super-secret government agency was formed to monitor and police the activities of extraterrestrial aliens on the planet Earth. Some 40 years later a founding father of the agency, Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones), finds himself with a new smart-mouthed partner fresh from the NYPD who is soon dubbed Agent Jay (Will Smith). Their first mission is to save the Earth from destruction by a giant insectlike alien (Vincent D'Onfrio) that, incidentally, drives an exterminator's truck. Armed with their matching Ray-Bans, skinny ties, and space-age weapons that Jay barely understands--he calls the Neuralyzer the "flashy thing"--the new duo begin another average day of fighting intergalactic terrorists. An amazingly hip and terribly clever movie that riffs on everything from E.T.--THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL to CASABLANCA, this Barry Sonnenfeld film is based on the equally savvy comic book by Lowell Cunningham.
A sci-fi adventure comedy about two top secret agents (Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones) with the everyday mission of policing alien activities on planet Earth. The Men in Black's current assignment: to stop an intergalactic terrorist from making Earth his next victim. "Men In Black" follows the exploits of agents Kay (Jones) and Jay (Smith) members of a top secret organization established to monitor and police alien activity on Earth. The two "Men In Black" find themselves in the middle of the deadly plot by an intergalactic terrorist (Vincent D'Onofrio) who has arrived on Earth to assassinate ...

Ghostbusters video
$10.29 In Andy Tennant's (SWEET HOME ALABAMA, ANNA AND THE KING) delightful romantic comedy HITCH, Will Smith stars as Alex Hitchens, an urban "date doctor" who helps the common man woo the woman of his dreams. Hitch will use any means necessary--dance lessons, back waxing--to instill romantic confidence in his clientele. Why? He was once a lonely wallflower himself, who learned about love and heartbreak the hard way. His latest project, Albert Brennaman (Kevin James), may be his most difficult. Brennaman, a junior accountant prone to clumsiness, has fallen head-over-heels for one of his clients, Allegra Cole (Amber Valleta), a well-known celebrity. To complicate things further, Hitch's dating dogma is shaken when he meets and falls for a beautiful gossip columnist, Sara Melas (Eva Mendes), whose sharp wit easily pierces his cool façade. Conflict arises when Melas uncovers Hitch's true profession and blames him for her best friend being dumped.
HITCH is set in affluent hot spots around New York City, making for some splendid visuals. Tennant gets charming performances from all of his leads, especially James, who makes an amazing transition from television's KING OF QUEENS and nearly steals the spotlight from Smith with his talent for physical comedy. Nevertheless, James and Smith have excellent onscreen chemistry. Kevin Bisch's first script is full of clever, contemporary dialogue, alternately pointing out the silliness and the poignancy of love and dating.

Ghostbusters review
$9.79 On October 3, 1993, Army Rangers and members of the elite Delta Force participated in a covert operation in Mogadishu, Somalia that went horribly wrong. Sent to abduct two lieutenants of a vicious Somali warlord, the soldiers found themselves surrounded by hostile militia. Two Black Hawk helicopters were shot down and many men lost their lives. Mark Bowden of the Philadelphia Inquirer told the story of the battle in his exhaustively researched, critically acclaimed book, BLACK HAWK DOWN, and filmmaker Ridley Scott (GLADIATOR) and screenwriter Ken Nolan have done an amazing job of bringing the dramatic story to the screen. Like Bowden's book, the film does not thoroughly examine the context of the conflict, but gives a detailed and intense blow-by-blow account of the fighting. The outstanding ensemble cast includes Josh Hartnett as a competent but nervous Ranger sergeant leading his first mission, Ewan McGregor as a "desk jockey" who excels when sent into combat, Eric Bana (THE INCREDIBLE HULK) as a cocky and enigmatic Delta, and Ron Eldard as a downed Black Hawk pilot. The violence of the film is brutal and nearly constant. Scott unflinchingly captures the chaos and mayhem of battle with tremendous visual finesse.
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott comes a grippng true story about bravery camaraderie and the complex reality of war. Black Hawk Down stars an exceptional cast including Josh Hartnett Ewan McGregor Tom Sizemore Eric Bana and Sam Shepard. In 1993 an elite group of American Rangers and Delta Force soldiers are sent to Somalia on a critical ...

| | Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005) Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled
Ghostbusters movie DVD
$10.89 Toilet humor proudly descends to new depths in the sequel to the original Rob Schneider vehicle. The film opens with Deuce Bigalow (Schneider) at the beach doing research on fish, where he is bullied by a couple of kids. The situation quickly escalates into a catastrophe involving elderly blind people and dolphins. So when he gets a call from an old friend, T.J. Hicks (Eddie Griffin, MY BABY'S DADDY), with an invitation to join him in Amsterdam, Deuce deems it wise to accept. Accompanied by the prosthetic leg of his recently deceased bride (she was eaten by a shark on their honeymoon), Deuce shows up in Europe only to find that a mysterious killer is knocking off the city's man-whores. Worse, T.J. is implicated, so Deuce is forced to go undercover and search for the killer on his own, hoping to clear his friend's name. He suspects the killer is a woman, and so he has a string of flawed dates--a woman with a penis for a nose, one with massive ears, and a hunchback, among others. Along the way Deuce makes each freakish date feel special, and falls for the niece of the detective assigned to the case (former model Hanna Verboom). Meanwhile, T.J. comes up with a vast array of creative synonyms for gigolos and their equipment. Everything comes to a head at the 73rd annual Man Whore Awards, where Deuce proves his mettle and things fall together in surprising ways. Though the jokes are unashamedly lowbrow and many have been seen before, Rob Schneider is characteristically endearing and no ...

$9.79 From the opening animated title sequence to the vulgarities at the film's climax, Gregory Poirer's directing debut is an obnoxiously funny comedy with a sharp romantic edge flowering beneath its T&A exterior. The plot surrounds a "kitty" (double entendre intended), created by a group of swinging pals determined to stave off marriage at all costs, with the cash headed towards whoever stays single the longest. Seven years later, only two of the friends remain single, and the pot is up to a half million in cash. When one of the two singles, Michael Delaney (Jerry O'Connell), runs afoul of the Las Vegas gambling mafia on account of a big-breasted babe, he needs that kitty cash desperately. Michael attempts to con his competitor, Kyle Brenner (Jake Busey), into marrying the wildly attractive policewoman Natalie (Shannon Elizabeth), who holds a personal vendetta against Kyle. But the best laid plans begin to run afoul when Natalie and Michael fall for each other instead. Filled with totally ...
