An IMAX film, RELEASED HERE IN HIGH DEFINITION, this hallmark title presents a unique vision of our world, the first non-verbal non-fiction motion picture filmed in time lapse photography, scored with exotic instrumentation in a multi-channel Surround soundtrack. An epic voyage from the birthplace of Western civilization to contemporary France.
Using evocative music and an uncommonly large aspect ratio, "Chronos" attempts nothing less than a high-scale history of a region of the earth. Time-lapse cinematography and even customized film techniques carry viewers through the ages and cover all the wonders -- human and natural -- the world has to offer. This epic visual and musical journey, produced for the IMAX screen, transcends history, from the cradle of civilization to modern day Paris. This program features startling time-lapse images of the Vatican, the Sphinx, the Great Pyramid and nearly 50 other natural and manmade wonders, and is notable for being the first nonverbal, nonfiction program filmed in time-lapse photography. Filmed in 70mm. $43.79 Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) is an average family man in Seattle who heads up the hi-tech security team at his local bank. But following a seemingly trivial case of identity theft, Jack's life is turned upside-down when he discovers that his wife (Virginia Madsen) and two kids have been kidnapped. The ransom? A mere $100 million, which the kidnappers, led by Bill Cox (Paul Bettany), want Jack to obtain for them via his expert computer skills. Initially compliant, Jack is soon irked by Cox and his cronies to the point where he decides to get his family back and bring the bad guys to justice.

$16.19 In 1972, Stax Records was second only to Motown as America's most successful black-owned record company, and as part of an ambitious bid to grow into a multimedia empire, the Memphis-based label had opened offices in Los Angeles and was eager to announce its presence in the community. The Watts Summer Festival was an annual celebration staged in the beleaguered Watts neighborhood of L.A., a mostly African-American community that had been scarred by race riots in the late '60s, and in 1972 Stax did something special for the occasion: it staged an all-day concert at the Los Angeles Coliseum on the final day of the Watts festival, with nearly every artist on the Stax roster appearing live on-stage and tickets priced at only a dollar. Over 110, 000 people attended the show, a camera crew was on hand to capture the proceedings for a feature film, and a mobile recording truck committed the whole show to tape. Two albums featuring material from the Wattstax festival appeared in 1972 and 1973, but both contained studio recordings along with material from the concert, and Wattstax: Music from the Wattstax Festival and Film is a three-CD set that brings together the lion's share of the previously released live material from the show along with a handful of previously unreleased performances recorded that day. This set tries to give a sense of the size, shape, and flow of the massive concert, ...
