In the quest to speed up and make Armored Core more accessible, I think something may have been lost. The designs of the ACs are not nearly as nice as Kawamori's, nor is the simplicity present of the original modification scheme. Making AC schematics instead of having a limit to the total AC designs is a nice twist, but being able to make them before buying the parts can get confusing. The auto modification doesn't really sit nice with me since the mods seem to be very limited in what they do. Balance makes no sense to me yet as I haven't seen any difference in how my AC handles when I put it at zero or go +/- on left or right sides. This is just a quick glance as I haven't spent much time with the game to really get a true feel for it, but the levels have a better design, but the missions are still brutally short most of the time. The story is a moment of whatever and you're thrown into the game. Part destruction is gone, a very fun and strategy building piece that made Last Raven interesting. Then there's the emblem making. Bleh, it's easy, but you can see that they're limiting what you can do so nothing offensive gets on to LIVE. Takes the fun out of it, though a creative type can definitely make something nasty with the options given. All in all, you could avoid this game and probably miss nothing in your life.
