Widescreen; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles; French Subtitles; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; Blue Ray HD-DVD Twin filmmakers Danny and Oxide Pang's creepy 2003 feature THE EYE earned them enough kudos to make the leap to Hollywood, and their first effort is the creepy chiller THE MESSENGERS. A Chicago-based family comprised of Roy (Dylan McDermott), his wife, Denise (Penelope Ann Miller), their teenage daughter, Jess (Kristen Stewart), and young son, Ben (played by twins Evan and Theodore Turner) try to put the hard times behind them with a move to a picturesque farmhouse in North Dakota. Jess quickly becomes convinced that the house is haunted after some peculiar occurrences while she's alone there with young Ben. But Ben can't articulate what he's seen, and Jess's story is met with skepticism by her parents. It soon becomes apparent that past family tensions are slowly boiling to the surface. Meanwhile, the ghosts keep coming, and the Pang brothers never keep their audience waiting for long before another nerve-jangling scene shudders into view. But as the ghosts torment their new residents, Jess does a little research on the old farmhouse and discovers a few secrets that may just hold the key to why this is all happening. Packed full of CGI effects and a few moments that may cause a jump or two, THE MESSENGERS is a horror movie aimed at a young audience and not horror aficionados, as indicated by its PG-13 rating.

Messengers Movie Review The EYE'S better, but a good effort by the Pang's. Well the end was predictable, and that's a downside. But knowing the Pang brother's I feel after watching the Eye that there more about taking a boring script, and making a great drama slash thriller out of it.With plenty of build up,and emotion's not to mention alot of good lighting.Which was present in this,my only complaint's are with the scenes where the parent's were fighting. To me it made the movie drag a bit,and ofcourse the predictable ending.Other than that I liked it... Predictible, but good. Found this movie to actually be pretty good, even thou I had it predicted in the first half hour or so. It did creep me out a little, but not too much. I thought the little boy was adorable, and made me question if children really can sense and see things we can't. Thought it was worth the time. John Corbett is just weird and freaky in this movie. But one question, why in the hell would you buy a house that looked like that anyway? Common sense. Submitted by lw (Iowa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
mediocore at best this was an alright movie. there really was nothing standoutish about it. although it was an easy film to follow plot wise, i think thats where it hurt, it wasnt near deep enough to be that good. there were a few decent scenes though. if your a big horror movie fan youd probably like it, if youre lookin to be scared, dont waste your time. Awesome horror movie. I found this movie to be a really cool horror movie. The story was easy to follow and not complex like most horror movies these days and I think the Pang brothers did a really awesome job.

$23.29 It's always been said that a video game cannot be successfully adapted into a film. With SILENT HILL, director Christophe Gans (BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF) and screenwriter Roger Avary (KILLING ZOE) have the benefit of the atmospheric and often terrifying game series of the same name. With a budget reportedly in excess of $50 million, they wisely eschew dense plot in favor of a kaleidoscopic nightmare--culled from several volumes of the game series--designed to give horror fans what they crave. Radha Mitchell (PITCH BLACK) stars as Rose Da Silva, a young mother whose adopted daughter Sharon speaks of the eponymous West Virginia mining town as she sleepwalks. Rose decides to take Sharon there in an attempt to discover why it haunts her dreams--but Silent ...
