Utilizing the unique powers of the Nintendo Wii system, Retro Studios once again takes us to the beyond with bounty Hunter Samus Aran. The Galactic Federation's Base Sector Zero is under attack by Space Pirates. Samus must boot up the generator to restore the defense systems. But at the end of her path, someone awful is waiting for her. The war initiated by Dark Samus and the Space Pirates rages across many planets as they attempt to corrupt each with Phazon seeds. Players use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to explore alien landscapes, hunt for weapons and information, and destroy the seeds. Saving the planets from Corruption isn't enough, though. Eventually, players must take down Samus' mortal enemy, Dark Samus. Besides using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to pull off amazing feats like aiming and blasting in midair or at a full run, players also will have an array of different weapons at their disposal. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Games Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) Retro Studios did it again It's that simple, actually: thanks to the Wiimote, Retro has refined forever how first person shooters (well yes, I know Metroid isn't a "pure" FPS due to its strong action/adventure components) are to be played on a console.
The game itself has been refined a bit to be enjoyable by the so-called "new gamers": standard difficulty level is quite easy for Metroid fans, to whom I strongly suggest playing Corruption in "Veteran". And needless to say, the redefinition of the genre is only true if you choose the Advanced control setup, which for the first time in the series lets you freely shoot to any enemy even if you have already locked on a target.
Sound is very very good and graphics are high standard, too (considering the technical limitations of the hardware), everything seems more detailed, with better quality textures and lots of light effects compared to previous Gamecube episodes. And of course, it's still running 99% of the time at 60 frames per second, which is definitely not that bad for a first person view game...
The usual backtracking is still there: you either love it or hate it, but I think Metroid fans are used to it. Anyway, you are somewhat forced to it only if you aim at getting all the hidden items/powerups.
Which is, by the way, what I did.
Longevity is ok, I got 100% in about 23 hours, nowadays it's nothing you can blame about, I think.

Features Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the pointer, allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced Samus employs well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as a bunch of new surprises, to help her survive her coming trials. Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, players will be able to grasp and pull things by using actual arm movements, as well as execute amazing feats like aiming and blasting in midair or at a full run If you fill Samus' Phazon supply to a certain level, Samus will temporarily go into hyper mode, a state in which she can pull off incredible feats; on the flip side, if she exceeds the maximum Phazon level, she’ll perish For the first time in the Metroid series, Samus' ship will be used in active game play Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Hints There are two foreign language Easter Eggs in the game, both Dark Samus related. In the beginning, if you examine the life support system, the screen will fill with seemingly-random letters. It's actually French, though, and reads "Vous mourez si votre resistance est forte," which translates to "You die if your resistance is strong." Near the end of the game, you will also find some German text, which reads "Kampfen Gandrayada, die Zahl von einer falschen freund." This translates to "Fight Gandrayada, the figure of a false friend" (though the German is technically grammatically incorrect).
