Los Gabriel...Simplemente Amigos
$13.69 It's been in the making for almost six years and the response has been overwhelming. Carol DiFlorio's debut album - "Out at Last" with six original tracks (written by long-time friend and producer, Phillip Roane of Mr. & Ms. Records) and four covers, is refreshing. In a landscape where heavy dancehall rhythms with mostly militant lyrics have inundated the market, Carol's CD "Out at Last" with its easy-going, mellow and warm melodies integrated beautifully with uplifting and socially conscious lyrics is, in a word - heartening. As Damon Williams, writer of the Philadelphia Daily News affirms, ...

Los Gabriel...Simplemente Amigos
$16.45 If anyone wants to know my life's story, I would have to tell them it's all centered around singing God's praises. Gospel music has been in my spirit since I was a 12 year old child. I sang in the young peoples' choir at my home church in Peoria, Ill. I used to be very nervous but I had a good "coach", the director of the choir, who encouraged me by saying, "just close your eyes and open your mouth and sing for Jesus." If it had not been for her encouragement, I probably would have never stepped forward. Then as I grew older, I went on to the young adult choir and used to be one of the lead singers. Eventually, I stepped forward as a soloist. I went from church to church as the Lord opened doors for me to solo. I wasn't as nervous but was rejoicing in every opportunity to lift up the name of Jesus.I organized a children's choir which I had to direct, teach and even play the piano. I was glad for the experience of that along with being assistant director of the young adult choir, as well. Years later, I also directed, taught, and accompanied a teenage choir in Missouri. It was a challenge but I was able, with the help of the Lord, to stand up against adversity.I've soloed in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and here in Atlanta, Georgia. Several cities within those 4 states have opened doors for me. I gave a concert in my home town of Peoria 2 years ago and will be on tour to Peoria, Milwaukee, and Grandview, Mo. this summer ( June, July, and August /'06) I also was chief lead singer in the praise team of the church where I was licensed and ordained.I'm on the radio and internet (see my web site) and now with CD Baby's help my songs will be heard around the world. God is AWESOME!!!! There's no telling where God will take me to sing and preach his gospel message. I'm willing and ready to go wherever He chooses to send me for as long I live, breathe, and have my being on earth. HALLELUJAH!There are several people that have helped me along the way to get to the place that I am now. I almost hate to start naming names because I'm bound to forget someone. I'll apologize if there is anyone I forget to name because I appreciate and thank God for everyone He has sent my way to assist me in becoming a recording gospel artist.Well, here goes....first let me give ALL of the honor, glory, power, and dominion to the Lord Jesus because He's the one who chose me when I didn't know to choose Him. He's the one who anointed and appointed me to preach the unadulterated gospel of Jesus Christ. He's the one who anointed my voice to sing and gave me His anointed songs to sing. So, I owe Him all of the praise, dominion , power and majesty first and utmost of all!!!!!Then there were those helpers he sent my way such as my first producer and musician, Josh Walden, of my first CD, "A Miracle of Love," which I will be sending to CD Baby to put on the market for me as well. Also there was Robert Scott, an artist and author (soon to be published), who refered me to the radio station by introducing me to the host announcer, Bro. Leroy Upshaw. Also, he referred me to CD Baby as well. My latest CD " NO WEAPON" came ...

Los Gabriel...Simplemente Amigos
$10.59 Dark Stars by Brooklyn's White Magic may be a stopgap on the way to album number two, but these four songs totaling nearly 21 minutes offer the static structural moments of their debut album while investigating some interesting new textural surfaces. For starters, Mira Billotte, who wrote three of these tunes, is stretching her voice, lyrics, and even song frames into more psychedelic rock and space age country-blues territory than acid folk. Dirty Three drummer Jim White, on skins for three of these tunes, adds immeasurable warmth and presence to the sometimes icy sounds found on previous releases. He is always way up in the mix and his rubber-band-dancing manner on the drums creates more dimension; it serves as a handhold for the listener to grab onto. This is particularly true on the opener, "Shine on Heaven." "Very Late," with its nine-note scalar opening up and down, written in waltz tempo, walks the line between Appalachian old-timey folk -- as if written for a Tim Burton film -- and the country-blues. But it's nearly gothic in its tension and appearance, with White's bass drums and brushes snare, Doug Shaw's guitars layered on top of ...
