JUNO might have a lot of strengths--Page's award-worthy performance, a pitch-perfect soundtrack, excellent direction from Jason Reitman--but it's the screenwriting debut of writer Cody Diablo that makes this such a winning film. Famous for her blog and her book CANDY GIRL: A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF AN UNLIKELY STRIPPER, Diablo has a unique voice and an incredible ear for dialogue. But even the nearly perfect script wouldn't sound so good if it weren't for the talents of these actors, particularly Page. She won raves for her first major role in HARD CANDY, but this performance proves it wasn't a fluke. The rest of the cast, especially J.K. Simmons as Juno's dad, is just as worthy of attention. JUNO continues Cera's cinematic ascent after his success with the hit comedy SUPERBAD, and his ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT costar Jason Bateman uses his dry delivery to great effect as a potential parent for Juno's baby. I love Diablo Cody...I think she is a talented writer, however, this movie, we see everyday by going by a high school. This is the main reason why most teens are still beliving it's cool to be pregnant. Giving them a false sense that a quick antidote & an hour & a half later, all will right itself. This movie is ok at best, and the best part of the movie still to me is Jason Bateman.

the best film of 2007
Juno is my favorite film of 2007. It is about a whip smart 16 year old girl named Juno (Ellen Page) who gets knocked up by her nerdy boyfriend Paulie Bleeker (Michael Cera). Not being able to go through with an abortion,Juno decides to give the baby up for adoption. She and her best friend Leah ( Olivia Thirbly) find just the right couple (Jason Batmen and Jennifer Gardener) in an ad in the penny saver and Juno immediately sets up an appointment. The film goes on from there and you are completely absorbed in it. Diablo Cody's oscar winning script is brilliant,filled with quotable dialogue and sharp characters. Ellen Page gives the best performance of the year and should have won the oscar for her authentic performance. Page has terrific comic timing,but she brings depth and vulnerability to the character which is quite an achievement. Michael Cera,Jennifer Gardener,Jason Batmen,Olivia Thirbly, J.k Simmons,and Allison janey are excellent in supporting roles and Jason reitman directs skillfully. This movie is one of my favorite movies and a must see.

totally missed the hype this movie got & I had how it leaves viewers believing that after you give birth you can just walk away & act like it never happened. I don't think that is exactly what we are supposed to be teaching the youth of America?
I really did love Page as the main role. She reminds me a lot of myself, with the sarcastic smart-ass outlook on everything. Some of the things that came out of her mouth would def. be something I would say. I also thought Cera played the perfect geek role. Good combination & did have a few laughs, just wasn't worth all hype made over it.

It's hard to look on the lighter side of teenage prenancy, there really isn't one, but this film manages to find one; with Juno's quick wit, Bleeker the geeky boyfriend, and her families blunt honesty, it just makes you laugh. Beautifully acted by Ellen Page the film would not have been the same without her.
