Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes star as 3 ordinary women who form an unlikely friendship and decide to do something extraordinary - rob one of the most secure banks in the world. Diane Keaton, Katie Holmes, and Queen Latifah headline director Callie Khouri's (DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD) second feature film. Nina (Latifah) and Jackie (Holmes) are two of many employees with mundane jobs at the high-security Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. Their lives change forever when career mom Bridget (Diane Keaton) takes a job there as a cleaning woman after learning that she and her downsized husband, Don (Ted Danson), are hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. Being surrounded by stacks and stacks of money is too much for Bridget to bear, and she corrals Nina and Jackie into taking the biggest risk of their lives: sneaking out of the bank money that is removed from circulation and about to be shredded. Amazingly, their scheme works, and soon the three are fast friends and the cash is piling up. But will they ever have enough "mad money," or will greed be their downfall?
The fun here is in how three average women pull off a remarkably low-tech scam in the midst of super-high security levels, hidden cameras, and constant monitoring. Keaton, Latifah, and Holmes make a nice team, playing very different women with very different needs. Keaton's Bridget is trying to maintain her family's comfortable, upper-middle-class lifestyle when her husband no longer can. Meanwhile, the sole concern of Latifah's single mom, Nina, is keeping her sons out of trouble despite their surroundings. And Holmes's Jackie is a one-of-a-kind free spirit, dancing to the beat of her own drummer. Danson has some of the film's best lines as he tries to put his wife's actions into perspective. Mad Money Movie Review Average Rating: (2.5 out of 5 stars) It was okay... So I heard both good & bad about this one, but decided to go with it anyway. Thought it was cute, bringing together three totally different females all wanting a way to better themselves.
I loved Keaton in a different role, as the genius behind the idea to steal from the Federal Reserve. I normally really don't care for Katie Holmes, but I enjoyed her as the bubbly, dorky, naive girl. Latifah was good as normal.
Wouldn't be one I would pri watch again, but it did have a few good laughs & left me wondering if it was possible to ever pull something like that off in real life. Submitted by lw (Iowa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Mad Money Galore! This is a light, entertaining movie. The three ladies make an excellent ensemble, as they make their way through a 'heist' that we would all like to make! Diane Keaton is always fun to watch, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes round out the trio admirably. One time it's good to see the 'bad guys (girls)' win! Mad Money review
$10.19 The grisly and debauched film PATHOLOGY is a juiced-up medical thriller that plays like FLATLINERS with a mean streak and a broken moral compass. Writers Mark Nelvedine and Brian Taylor have created a premise allowing for CSI-like forensics along with heaps of sex and violence, truly making the most of the film's R-rating. A high-end exploitation film with good performances, PATHOLOGY is strong enough for horror fans and should go down smoothly for non-squeamish viewers with a taste for the dark side.
Gifted med student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia, HEROES) arrives at a major Washington, D.C., as an intern, where he is met with suspicion and resentment by the tightly knit group of fellow young pathologists-in-training. Soon, though, Ted is accepted into their circle---where they each take turns committing a murder so that the others may prove their mettle by figuring out the cause of death and celebrate with drug-fueled orgies among the dead bodies in the hospital. Things change for Ted, though, when his law student fiancée, Gwen (Alyssa Milano), moves to the city and helps to scare him straight. Soon, crazed Wallace Stevens-quoting leader Jake Gallo (Michael Weston) turns on Ted, putting both Ted's and Gwen's lives in serious jeopardy. The film opens with the Hippocratic Oath, and it's easy to tell that PATHOLOGY is going to show us doctors behaving badly, and the film is in fact almost gleefully immoral, with an ...

$13.55 Marcel Langenegger makes his feature-film directorial debut with the aptly titled DECEPTION, a film about secrets and lies. Jonathan McQuarry (Ewan McGregor) feels that life is passing him by. He completes short-term audits for a large firm, but doesn't really feel any connection to his employer and finds it difficult to make friends at his assignments since he's never there for long. Jonathan's circumstances change overnight when charming lawyer Wyatt Bose (Hugh Jackman) befriends him. In an instant, the shy accountant is playing doubles tennis with his new friend and beautiful women and visiting upscale clubs. Just as mild-mannered Jonathan is getting used to his new lifestyle, Wyatt leaves town on business. When Jonathan finds himself mistakenly in possession of Wyatt's cell phone, he also discovers a whole new world of anonymous sex in elite Manhattan hotels with powerful women known simply as "The List." But soon Jonathan is in over his head: he's the prime suspect when a woman goes missing, and the threat of extortion looms.
This tale weaves an intricate web of lies and treachery. Jackman is both charming and chilling as Wyatt, a man utterly without conscience, while McGregor falls easily into character as the bespectacled Everyman, ...

$10.35 Directed by Gregory Hoblit (FRACTURE, PRIMAL FEAR), UNTRACEABLE follows F.B.I. cybercrimes specialist Jennifer Marsh (Diane Lane) as she attempts to track down a serial killer who brazenly displays his murderous deeds on the Internet. Aided by fellow agent Griffin Dowd (Colin Hanks) and local detective Eric Box (Billy Burke), Marsh tenaciously hunts for the elusive criminal in rainy Pacific Northwest settings, but as she closes in on her target, he deviously finds ways to get closer to her, all the while killing his victims in increasingly faster fashion.
Clearly referencing a number of renowned thrillers--most notably the SAW films, SEVEN, and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS--UNTRACEABLE is far from an original cinematic exercise. However, Lane's steely, smart, and beautiful heroine ably ...

Inspired by the words of a college professor, Carter begins to make a "bucket list" of things he wants to accomplish before he dies.
