Widescreen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; Dir/Cast Commentary; Sensormatic; Blue Ray HD-DVD Charles Stone III's crowd-pleasing drama spotlights the previously unheralded world of university marching bands--more specifically, the cutthroat world that energizes Southern black campuses. Devon Miles (Nick Cannon) is a Harlem teenager who receives a full scholarship to attend Atlanta A&T University based on his excellent percussion talents. However, making the transition from hip-hop street drumming to the drumline of the school's legendary marching band is more challenging than Miles expected. For one, the band director, Dr. Lee (Orlando Jones), is determined to reclaim the national championship using old-school tactics, even though his traditional beliefs appear to be leaving A&T in the dust. And then there is Sean (Leonard Roberts), the current drum leader, who is threatened by Devon's skills and frustrated by his fierce individuality. These antagonistic forces, as well as the addition of a cheerleading love interest (Zoe Saldana), combine to test Devon's previously unshakeable confidence. As the season builds toward the BET Big Southern Classic and a showdown with rival Morris Brown University, Devon must swallow his pride and learn to be a team player if he wants his band to win the championship. DRUMLINE proves that any subject can make for an invigorating work of entertainment, if handled properly. Theatrical Release Date: December 13, 2002

Drumline Movie Review Made a great gift! My husband has tried to watch "Drumline" many times when it was broadcasted on television, but as always interrupted. I surprised him with the DVD and he sat to watch it right away. It was the first I had seen it, the musical performance is outstanding! Great Drumline was outstanding. It brought back a lot of memories seeing my old campus, Clark Atlanta University on the big screen! This movie puts African American colleges and universities in a very positive light!

Dotted "line" Another Cinderella (or is it "Rocky"?) story this time dealing w/ the world of college marching bands. A freshman student at A&T University gets a top spot in the percussion section of the school's band only to lose the spot because of his attitude & his inability to read sheet music. The story is so familiar, I could see the ending of the film while I was viewing the middle of it. The acting is so-so. It was hard for me to believe Orlando Jones as Dr. Lee because of his inconsistent resume of past film roles he has had (not to mention the nightmarish talk show he had on FX). The love story plot line brought the film to a sputter (Nick Cannon came across as one of the punk-ass Wayans bros., who couldn't pick up a dime let alone the female romantic lead of the film!). The big theme of this film is, drumroll please, ... reading is fundamental! The band action is amusing & interesting at best but, where the film is supposed to soar (i.e. any "Rocky" movie) it just coasts like a car going down a big hill. $9.85 In director Wolfgang Petersen's charming fantasy, Bastian (Barrett Oliver), a lonely schoolboy alienated from his father and bullied by his classmates, retreats to an attic where he becomes engrossed in a book entitled THE NEVERENDING STORY. | | Blazing Saddles DVD (1974) Widescreen; Dubbed; Special Edition; Subtitled
Drumline DVD
$7.95 A madcap spoof of the classic Hollywood Western, BLAZING SADDLES is also one of the most gleefully anti-P.C. films ever produced by a major studio. When the sheriff of a small frontier town is killed, convict Bart (Cleavon Little) is appointed the first black sheriff of all-white Rock Ridge by the evil Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman), who hopes this will chase the townspeople from their homes. The naive Sheriff Bart soon catches on, realizing from the less than cheery welcome that the townspeople (who all seem to be named Johnson) aren't prepared for a black sheriff and that he was never meant to succeed at all. Enlisting the help of the sensitive town drunk (Gene Wilder), formerly the Waco Kid, Bart embarks on a plan to save Rock Ridge. A scathing spoof that deals with racism, sexism, and bodily functions, BLAZING SADDLES offers a contrast between picture and words that is shocking, subversive, and hilarious. Director Mel Brooks makes two memorable appearances--as both the sleazy governor and a Yiddish-speaking Sioux Indian chief--while Madeline Kahn does a sidesplitting Marlene Dietrich imitation as the town floozy. Featuring fabulous comic turns by Alex Karras and Slim Pickens, BLAZING SADDLES is raunchy, lovable, and uproarious.
The railroad's got to run through the town of Rock Ridge. How do you drive out the townfolk in order to steal their land? Send in the toughest gang you've got...and name a new sheriff who'll last about 24 hours. But that's not really the plot of Blazing Saddles, just the ...

Drumline review
$27.39 The phrase "bad trip" takes on a double, sinister meaning in this drug-fuelled horror movie from director Paddy Breathnach (BLOW DRY). A group of college students depart America for the Emerald Isle in the hopes of enjoying one of Ireland's less-advertised merits: its magic mushrooms. The friends camp out in the middle of the forest, but the hallucinogens give them more than just strange visions. Paranoia begins to take over as they realize they're not alone in the woods.
Import only Blu-Ray/Region All pressing. Extended cut version features previously unseen footage. Includes director's commentary, deleted and alternate scenes, bloopers and cast interviews. Mastered in hi-def, 1080P. A group of American students get a lot more than they bargained for when they ingest some magic mushrooms during a trip to Ireland. | | Zodiac Blu-ray (2007) Widescreen; Director's Cut; Subtitled
Drumline movie DVD
$29.25 David Fincher's (FIGHT CLUB, SE7EN) adaptation of the Robert Graysmith book masterfully transports viewers to the Bay Area in the 1960s and '70s by drawing on actual case files from the notoriously unsolved Zodiac killer mystery. As a murderer with seemingly random targets starts sending terrifying threats and cryptic codes to police and publishers all around San Francisco, fear and paranoia descend on the city. Through slow pacing, Fincher creates an effectively chilling atmosphere in which he spins a thick web of character-driven plotlines. Early scenes depicting the Zodiac's first-known murders vividly capture the victim's fear and agony and will leave viewers haunted. When the Zodiac's ciphers arrive at the San Francisco Chronicle, they spark the interest of Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal), a young cartoonist with a penchant for puzzles. As the former Boy Scout earnestly tries to decode the messages, eccentric reporter Paul Avery approaches the case from a career-boosting angle. Meanwhile, a string of investigators from four jurisdictions carry on a complex and unsatisfying search for the elusive killer. Inspectors Dave Toschi (Mark Ruffalo) and Bill Armstrong (Anthony Edwards) at times collide with Avery and Graysmith, whose interest in the case extends long after most have given up.
Even at two-and-a-half hours in length, this dense murder mystery should manage to keep its audience riveted throughout. Paired with stellar performances from Ruffalo, Downey, Gyllenhaal, and countless others, a clever script produces well-developed characters, and the film's art direction, music, and ...
