The ruse seems perfect, right down to Cameron's dad's "borrowed" Ferrari, but Ferris's nemesis, high school principal Ed Rooney, is determined to bring the truants to justice. Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is a tricky but harmless fast-talker. But he knows how to have fun, which is exactly what he sets out to do when he feigns illness and talks his parents into letting him stay home from school. The perpetually lucky Ferris enlists his hypochondriac best friend, Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck), into springing his girlfriend, Sloane Peterson (Mia Sara), from class, and the three embark on a raucous downtown Chicago adventure. From Wrigley Field to the Art Institute of Chicago to a Polish pride parade, Ferris and his friends make the most of their day off. But Ferris, Sloane, and Cameron might not get away with playing hooky. Ferris's sister, Jeanie (Jennifer Grey), is determined to prove that Ferris is faking sick and make him pay for it, and the bumbling school dean, Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones), is sure that Ferris is pulling a fast one. Another classic from writer-director John Hughes (SIXTEEN CANDLES, THE BREAKFAST CLUB), this film features a star turn from Broderick as the charismatic Ferris. Watch for Charlie Sheen as the juvenile delinquent in the police station and comedian Louie Anderson in a brief appearance as a flower deliveryman. Theatrical release: June 11, 1986.
Filmed in and around Chicago, Illinois, including at Glenbrook North High School, Northbrook, IL, which is writer-director John Hughes's alma mater.

At least on my own monitor. Detail is really good.Looks great. I like it's look even better than "Monsters Inc." Also I wish I had purchased it here because of the great price. I paid almost twice the price. The movie isn't bad either. What a bargain! Buy it! Oh did I say it looks great? Wow! Submitted by a reviewer (Florence Alabama) Was This Review Helpful? great movie this was a classic 80's flick. there were so many followers spun off from this movie and it seems that even today it's still a favorite to most people. this tells the life of a typical teenager who gets into all the trouble he can, but always seems to catch a break and get it to go his way.who wouldn't want to have a skip day like that. $23.95 When the box office champ Ben Stiller's comedic performances aren't a variation on a soft-spoken, put-upon everyman with an eventual fuse, he's usually playing a full-blown absurdist monster with an apoplectic Napoleon complex. These bizarre creations usually adorn films in which the funnyman provides the supporting work (DODGEBALL, HEAVYWEIGHTS), but, whenever he's directing, he's free to build an entire filmic universe around his asinine, ludicrously funny, culture-skewering characters and premises. His ZOOLANDER (2001) bit at the entertainment industry with silly abandon, but Stiller has firmly set TROPIC THUNDER within the realm of sophisticated Hollywood satire. In it, a desperate director named Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan) trying to make ...

Ferris Bueller's Day Off review
$25.15 Seth Davis (Giovanni Ribisi), a19-year-old college dropout, runs a casino out of his Queens apartment. When his father (Ron Rifkin), a well respected judge, discovers that he has dropped out of school and begun to engage in illegal activities, he expresses his continued disappointment with Seth. Seth is overcome with the need to be accepted by his father, and after being introduced to Greg (Nicky Katt), a successful stockbroker, he uses this as an opportunity to go straight and redeem himself in the process. Walking into the offices of J.T. Marlin in suburban Long Island, he encounters a world that at first overwhelms him, but eventually wins him over. The individuals who inhabit these "boiler rooms" (basically sweatshops for business types) are young, aggressive, and driven by an animalistic greed for money that borders on the psychopathic. Seth learns the ropes from the more experienced ...
