Fleeing from the queen, her vain and wicked stepmother, Snow White, seeks refuge in the forest with a group of singing dwarves. Enamoured by Snow White, the dwarves adopt her as family, but even they can't protect her from the evil queen's wrath. Disney's first feature length animated film, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES, combines song and mirth with vivid and attractive characters, creating a film alluring to both children and adults.

Disney's first full-length animated masterpiece features all the elements of a classic fairy tale--a beautiful heroine, an evil queen, Prince Charming...and a septet of whistling dwarfs. In hiding from her jealous and wicked stepmother, the fair Snow White takes refuge with a band of kind-hearted, hard-working dwarves: Bashful, Sneezy, Sleepy, Happy, Grumpy, Dopey and Doc. Eventually the vain queen finds Snow White and tricks her into eating a poisoned apple. Luckily, a wandering prince comes to her rescue, but can he break the evil queen's spell? Based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS was initially thought a crazy idea for a feature film by those at Walt Disney. However, its lush production and charming characters proved otherwise. Standing the test of time since its release in 1937, the film has entranced audiences for decades, teaching them to never be vain and always whistle while they work.

Theatrical release: December 21, 1937. Rereleased in 1944, 1952, 1958, 1967, 1975, 1983, 1987, and 1993. SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS was an original selection to the Library of Congress National Film Registry in 1989. SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS was the very first feature-length animated film ever made. The Seven Dwarfs are Grumpy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful, Dopey, Doc, and Happy. Rejected dwarf names include Wheezy, Puffy, Stuffy, Burpy, Jumpy, Baldy, Nifty, Gabby, Stubby, and Deafy. The film received a special Academy Award in 1938, consisting of one regular Oscar statue and seven smaller statuettes.

5 stars Beautiful Restoration
I compared my Snow White DVD with my video tape and couldn't beleive the difference. The DVD looks like it was filmed today. The colors are brightand free from the gritty look on the video. The sound is clean and pure sounding. There is great bonus materials too. Plus if you still own the video Disney has a 5.00 rebate for you plus if you have recently purchased 2 other Disney DVDs and S.W. you can get a free Disney DVD. Great movie, great deals.

Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs review

After creating a classic with THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, director Henry Selick crafts the first stop-motion animated feature to be filmed in three dimensions. Dakota Fanning voices a girl who finds a parallel universe lurking behind a door in her home, but the new world isn't all it initially appears. Based on Nail Gaiman's novel, CORALINE promises to be a favorite for both children and adults. As covetous children are often warned: "Be careful what you wish for." It’s this very cautionary wisdom that sets the stage for Henry Selick’s CORALINE, an eerily eye-popping stop-motion animation tale of fractured dreams and families made whole. As the films opens, Coraline Jones (voiced by Dakota Fanning) and her parents (Teri Hatcher, John Hodgman) have moved into the Pink Palace, a once-vibrant boarding house that’s turned drab and dilapidated. As her parents work feverishly on a new gardening catalog, the bored and belligerent Coraline is admonished to explore her new world’s possibilities. Along the way she meets her fellow tenants, including two aging English showgirls and a mouse-training Russian acrobat, as well as an outcast neighborhood boy named Wybie. But it is a mysterious hidden door that most piques Coraline’s interest--a ...

With CURSED, screenwriter Kevin Williamson and director Wes Craven (SCREAM) take another playful trip to the dark side. This time around, their sights are set on one of the horror genre's most popular subjects: werewolves. Set in an ultra-hip modern Los Angeles, the film tells the tale of siblings Ellie (Christina Ricci) and Jimmy (Jesse Eisenberg), who have yet to fully come to terms with the loss of their parents. Ellie works at "The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn" and dates ladies' man Jake (Joshua Jackson), while Jimmy is a less-than-popular high school student with a crush on the prettiest girl in school (Kristina Anapau). But one night, after Ellie and Jimmy get into a car accident on Mulholland Drive, they are bitten by what appears to be a bona fide werewolf. Soon, both brother and sister are exhibiting behavior that can only mean one thing--that they, too, have been cursed. A troubled production history notwithstanding, Craven's film remains a fast-paced, clever addition to the genre. Featuring a star-studded supporting cast (including Mya, Judy Greer, and Shannon Elizabeth), as well as an energetic modern rock soundtrack, CURSED takes viewers on a thrill-ride through the dark side of Los Angeles. Import Blu-Ray/Region A pressing. Packed with even more intense thrills than audiences experienced in theaters, this unrated version of Wes Craven's Cursed brings you the terror of werewolves as ...
