Product Description
This installment of the Sony Masterworks label's 2007 reissue series presents the original 1980s cast recording of Sunday IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, Stephen Sondheim's musical about the life and work of French painter Georges Seurat. The production stars Mandy Patinkin as Seurat and Bernadette Peters as Dot (a clever nod to the artist's style), allowing the renowned vocal powerhouses to play off of each other in a number of duets, most notably on the bright "Color and Light" and the melancholy "We Do Not Belong Together." Composed by Stephen Sondheim. ...See Full Description

| A broadway triumph Sunday in the park with george has an outstanding score by stephen sondheim.Mandy patinkin gives a memorable, convincing performance as the two george's.His voice is a bit annoying in the first act,but he sings in character which is the only thing that matters.Bernadette peters gives a feisty, yet poingant performance as dot in the first act,but gives understated, heart wrenching work as marie in the second act.Sondheim's score is filled with emotion and detail and it is one of my favorite scores by him.Best tracks are;sunday in the park with george, color and light, finishing the hat,we do not belong together, beautiful, sunday, children and art, move on. BB Mak Sooner Or Later CD (2000)
The UK's secret weapon against US boy bands could very well be found in BBMak and the group's debut, SOONER OR LATER. Take that slick pop formula and add a rockier underscore and you'll be pleasantly surprised with tracks such as "I'm Not in Love" and "Back Here."
The most immediately appealing facet of BBMak's hook-driven, harmony-laden sound is the predominant use of acoustic drums (which at times seems to border on extinction in most modern pop bands). An R&B, acoustic rock and disco-influenced sonic stew is served up in tracks like "Next Time" and "Unpredictable." Tasteful strings and piano give "Ghost of You and Me" serious radio potential as a mid-tempo ballad. "I Can Tell" features Latin-flavored acoustic guitar while "Love is Leaving" boasts a majestic chorus. "Love on the Outside" offers a neo-funk groove and '70s style wah-wah guitar, while "Still on Your Side" has a clear path to chart dominating single status. The guitar-driven "Can't Say" makes smart use of well-crafted arrangements while "Again" closes SOONER OR LATER with moody keyboards and a vocal tour de force.
Brit pop triumvirate BB Mak's 2000 debut full length on Hollywood Records. Features the hit single 'Back Here', plus the tracks 'I'm Not in Love', 'Again' & nine more.
