Best Pink Floyd CD Is
Obscured by Clouds. I see alot of people saying "Dark Side Of The Moon" is, Please. Its all good, but "Animal" kicks Dark Sides a$$ any day. I bet over 70% of you so called Pink Floyd fans haven't even listen to "Obscured by Clouds."

This Immersion Edition is the weakest of the three of them
Of the three Immersion Editions, this is the weakest of them for a number of reasons. It contains just a DVD [no Blu-ray unlike the other editions] with a documentary and some other odds n ends. Aside from the remastered Wall [again remastered] there is The Wall Live [but this was taken from the 2000 release Is There Anybody Out There] which leaves two CDs of demos - the only real highlight for the box set. There is no DVD Audio or Blu-ray audio of the album [unlike the other 2 releases].

This is not about greatest moment in German history!
I was expecting document about tearing down the hated Berlin Wall and Reunification! Instead, it's droning guitars and something about a spoilt rock star's hang-ups! Don't be fooled by the title!

This "is" the Wizard of Oz!!!
Everyone says this album goes along great with "The WIZARD OF OZ", but, in my own opinion, this "is" the Wazard of Oz! You can create your own world with this album all of the way through! It has almost all of their big hits: "Comfortably Numb", Another Brick In the Wall", "Run Like Hell", "Young Lust", "Mother", "Hey You" and many, many more!!! I still think that their final 2 albums 1987's "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and 1994's "The Division Bell" are their best albums mainly because they fused together their old sound with the rock/alternative genres of the 80's and 90's!!! There's always room for the Floyd... no matter what kind of musical genre you're into! Pink Floyd is a part of rock, rap, country, jazz, alternative, metal... it doesn't matter!!! The Floyd is a part of that... "EVERYTHING"! This is a prime example!

Alice in Wonderland
This CD is great - not as good as Wish you were Here and DsotM. But still spectacular. And watch Alice in Wonderland while playing The Wall (you have to skip comfortably numb) and it's amazing the choreography. Better than Wizard of Oz and DsotM.

I was not one of the original listners on Pink Floyd. However after my friend introduced them to me I cant seem to get them out of my head. Pink Floyd is utter genuis! And that means something, I am 17, I have grown into my teen years listning to Artists and Bands suc as AFI and 50 Cent and I cant definitly say this music comes from the soul. Five Stars!

Pink Floyd headlines late 70's rock
This double album from Pink Floyd doesn't beat "Dark Side" as their best studio effort, but it comes pretty close. Honestly, this cd is a little depressing to listen to back-to-back, but it is brilliant in spots, such as "Run Like Hell", "Comfortably Numb" and what has become a well-known rock anthem "Another Brick In The Wall Part II".

The Wall ROCKS
When I was much younger my father would play his "The Wall" records and I used to love it so much, a year or so back I decided to buy the cds for him (along with DSOTM) and I pretty much took "The Wall" it is my all time favorite album ever, I can listen to it 24/7. I suggest it to anyone. oh and to all you stupid people...THE WALL IS STILL BETTER THAN DARK SIDE OF THE MOON GET OVER IT!. DSOFM is great but nothing can beat "THE WALL"

Some classic tunes like Comfortably Numb and Hey You. Too much Roger Waters. 30 years later it is still a disappointment. Was glad when Floyd rocked with Lapse of Reason and Division Bell. Roger was great on Animals and Dark Side. All things must pass.

A note on the mastering.
Everyone knows this is a classic, so enough said. I just wanted to comment on the actual sonics. The new reissue program will have to pull out all stops to top this as a special sonic event. Compare the MoFi edition to the standard release, even the Japanese one, and if your system is up to it, you will experience a lush, extra-dynamic presentation of this extraordinary production. You will be surprised how thin and brittle your standard edition is. The MoFi even gives original vinyl a run. If the new edition tops this, kudos to James Guthrie for doing so.

Great Album!
I grew up listening to Pink Floyd, and i can say that of all the albums made this is by far one of the best! i mean for someone to write songs about what everyone has witnessed or went through themselves is great. It just gives you more reason to want to buy the album! it's the only type of " opera " i will listen to and watch. from David Gilmour's voice " sexing up" YOUNG LUST, to the disco beat of ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL PART 4 and the haunting sound of DON'T LEAVE ME NOW..this is a great album that if you don't have in your Pink Floyd collection you MUST BUY!

this album is a masterpiece! i've been hearing this for years and this always reminds me of my own childhood. it's a very confusing and dark story that never seems to drag on. the lyrics are really good and really set the scene. it is mandatory to listen to the entire thing. faves are "mother", "another brick in the wall (part 2)/happiest days of our lives", "hey you", "run lik hell", "the trial", hell everything on here rules!

5 Stars but 24Bit version of it should be released though
The success of this album is behind the libretto, like most of Verdi's operas. This album mirrors 70's and 80's urban history and its accuracy deserves a better medium than a CD although it already sounds awsome as it is. I have the album but I will buy it again if a 24Bit of it reaches the market. Remarkable album, to comment on it in terms of the lyrics is poetical psychology, but the performance has an outstanding production behind and the ambience of the music and vocals could not be more drammatic as performed by the group. As I said, as it is with a good Hi-Fi the CD sounds astounding.

As the many years roll by, one remains high above all the others, intensely moving, Pink Floyd's The Wall, possibly the most brilliant score ever recorded. Turn up the volume, listen closely to every detail and be engulfed in its genius.

Pink Floyd does it again
This album is a shining example of everything that is Pink Floyd. With brilliant music, it is a treat to listen to, as are all Floyd releases I have heard. It takes time to apprechiate the music, and it may not be for everyone but I think that if everyone gave it a chance, they would realize how great this album really is. The movie is also worth seeing but I advise listening to the CD first so it fills your mind with its own images, and not those of the movie.

Do not think twice, if you can afford it.
This album is not a typical album, which is generally a compilation of songs(love songs, mostly). Here each song is related to the other one.You might have heard a few of the songs already. But listen to whole album to get the total ,bigger picture. The way Waters has written the whole album is out of this world. Just do not listen to this album as any other album. This deserves special attention. Pay attention to the finer details(if you have time,of course). If possible, get a print out of the lyrics with some background information of the theme. This album is in a class of its own when it comes to song writing and composition. Of course, it has the usual Pink Floyd touch.Plus a lot of great numbers, just for listening pleasure. Here you see Roger Waters and David Gilmour at theit best. Not much of Richard Wright and Nick Mason.

As a huge fan of Pink Floyd, I have heard almost every album they have produced. Without a doubt, "The Wall" is the most ambitious and satisfying of them all. It makes you wonder about Roger Waters' state of mind if this is in any way truly autobiographical. It helps to get a copy of the motion picture to get the whole story, but it is not essential. Just put on the headphones, turn down the lights, and completely lose yourself in this one. It is excellent!

Immersive
If you have the guts to give yourself to this album it will pay off in spades. Word of warning however, be prepared to learn more about yourself than you do about Pink Floyd. The sequel to it, and equally as good, was Amused to Death - have them both in the car on long night journeys.

Not my favorite but very good.
A very very deep album. Probably the deepest ever made. It takes more than one listen to understand, but once you get it it's truely a wonderful and moving work of art. More of a lyrical and conceptual masterpiece than a musical masterpiece. If you think Another Brick.. Part 2 is the only good song on this then you're probably as deep and complicated as a doorknob. Definately not an album for teenyboppers.

The Wall, Probably the Greatest Album Ever
When you hear bits and pieces of this album on the radio, it doesn't seem that great. (Although Another Brick In The Wall pt. 2 and Comfortably Numb are very popular.) When you listen to the whole album together, some songs that, by themselves, aren't great, but when they're put with the whole album they are awesome. The story that is told is very dramatic and gripping. If I had to suggest on album to buy, it would most like be this one.
