All surviving complete performances from the legendary 1961 Village Vanguard sets by the Bill Evans Trio presented in chronological order. It would be the last recording by this formation of the group, with Scott LaFaro on bass, and Paul Motian on drums, as LaFaro died ten days later in a car crash, on July 6, 1961, at the age of 25. One of the best trio recordings of all time
Village Vanguard Sessions songs The smoooth, subtle efffort that underlies this masterpiece is without doubt one of the finest modern jazz recordings/sessions of all time. Village Vanguard Sessions album for sale Its singular special mix and timing of drums and bass work magic around the phrasing and light, complex chord changes unique to Evan's gentle though spectacular style. There's not much quite like it.
