Black & White; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re THE RUTLES is a hilarious send-up of the myth and reality--mostly the myth--of the Beatles. Created by Monty Python's Eric Idle and produced by SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE creator Lorne Michaels, this mockumentary contains cameos from Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Ron Wood, Bill Murray, and even one of the mocked himself, George Harrison. To make the comedy all the more exciting, this version was banned from United States television. Songs include: "Hold My Hand," "Number One," "Love Life," "Living in Hope," "Get Up and Go," "Cheese and Onions," "Doubleback Alley," and many others. It is not a stretch to say that without THE RUTLES--ALL YOU NEED IS CASH, there might never have been a SPINAL TAP. Rutles, The: All You Need Is Cash Reviews: "...The movie is both a razor-edged needling and a sweet homage to an era when love was indeed all anyone seemed to need..."
-- David Browne, Entertainment Weekly "[An] unrestrained deconstruction of the group's legend and perfectly nuanced send-up of the 1970s Tony Palmer rock-doc."
-- Mojo Staff, Mojo
This is the only Ricky Fataar video. Stars also making their debut in this video: John Halsey, Bianca Jagger. Rutles, The: All You Need Is Cash Movie Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) A Rutter's Must Have If you are a true Ruttle Fan , and you must be if you even found this review, you are sunk just buy it, you have to have it for your collection anyway. Who cares if it's good? You are in luck, however, because it's pretty good, in a VERY campy sort of way. The flick is a lot of fun with lots of great Ruttles music in between, and with the DVD the sound quality is just great...I just can't recommend VHS though (cause it stinks) but it's your call. This is the onl way to truly have a complete Ruttles collection and chicks dig it! Really I promise. Submitted by jamesblee (Fishers, IN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
All You Need is......RUTLES!! Better on DVD than VHS (which I also have.Very clever and very, very funny. I laughed til I stopped! Plus the CD Universe service was great...had the product in 4 days!
Not a whole big todo on the deleted scenes, and there is a 'written' background of how this movie came to be, which is a little hard to read, but all in all....a great video...a classic! Submitted by Michael (Vancouver,WA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
THE best rock parody ever! The meticulous attention to detail in recreating many memorable Fab moments, is amazing. The songs are spot on and the humor ranges from over-the-top Python-esque hilarity, to sly little asides only knowable by the biggest Beatle fans. Rewarding, hilarious and worth repeated viewing...Look for George in a cameo as a reporter toward the end! Submitted by a reviewer (san francisco, ca) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Rutles, The: All You Need Is Cash review
$10.49 A HARD DAY'S NIGHT presents a fictionalized day in the life of the Beatles as they give a performance on a live television show. Filmed just a month after their appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964, this film--the Beatles' first--introduces us to the unique personalities of each member of the band. The film opens with the Fab Four boarding a train mobbed with adoring young fans (mostly women) as they attempt to travel to the television studio ...
| | Tesla Into The Now CD (2004)
Rutles, The: All You Need Is Cash DVD
$8.49 Unfairly labeled a hair-metal band, Tesla was always closer to the spirit of vintage 1970s hard rock. When the group released 1994's BUST A NUT, grunge rock was in full swing, and the Sacramento quintet subsequently took their curtain call, keeping busy with low-profile side projects. Testing the waters in 2000, Tesla launched a successful reunion tour, proving the band's enduring appeal. INTO THE NOW stands as their first full-length studio effort in 10 years.
The core of Tesla's sound has been updated with a fresh and contemporary flavor, but it's still very much their own. Jeff Keith's voice retains its heartfelt grit and grease, while guitarists ...

Although America wasn't the first to catch on to the Beatles, it certainly gave the Fabs a worldwide stage from which to launch their pop music invasion. During the space of 12 months in 1964, Capitol released four Beatles LPs that reshuffled various British Parlophone LPs, EPs, and singles. The result of this rejiggering was four unique titles that, along with those famed Ed Sullivan performances, were the introduction to this global ...
