| | James Ingram Forever More (Love Songs, Hits & Duets) CD James Ingram Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology.
James Ingram never became a superstar, but he racked up a respectable number of adult contemporary and urban soul hits during the '80s and early '90s, many of which were duets. Forever More (Love Songs, Hits & Duets) collects 14 highlights from his career, including the hits "Just Once," "One Hundred Ways," "Baby, Come to Me," "Yah Mo Be There," "Somewhere Out There," and "I Don't Have the Heart." The remaining songs may not be as recognizable as the singles, but they're in the same vein and should please the casual fans who were lured in by the well-known hits. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

$20.99 In 1961, discovered by Ronnie White of the Miracles, he was signed by Berry Gordy of Motown Records. His voice broke in 1964 but he re-emerged in 1965 with a worldwide hit, 'Uptight (Everything's Alright)'. His contract expired in 1971 and Wonder financed two experimental albums, playing almost all instruments. He pioneered ...

Forever More (Love Songs, Hits & Duets) music CDs
$15.19 Two CDs of pioneering R&B stompers & sweet soul, from the 60s to the 70s, including classics such as Jackie Wilson's '(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher', The Chi-Lites 'Have You Seen Her', Barbara Acklin's 'Am I The Same Girl', Young-Holt Trio's 'Wack Wack' & many more. Slipcase. Metro. 2002.
With two discs, 45 songs, and more than 135 minutes of playing time, does this two-CD anthology do justice to Brunswick Records, a key label for 1960s and 1970s Chicago soul? Pretty much, but some flaws keep it from being as good an overview as it could have been. You do get plenty of the major hits here by Jackie Wilson, Gene Chandler, the Young-Holt Trio, the Chi-Lites, Barbara Acklin, and Tyrone Davis. More enticingly for the collector, there are numerous little-known sides by veterans more celebrated for earlier work (LaVern Baker, Little Richard, Major Lance) and mid-level acts who never achieved or sustained ...
