GRP's Priceless Jazz is a mid-line collection that concentrates on recordings the Brecker Brothers made for the label during the '90s. Since it features one specific era of their career and contains only 11 tracks, it could hardly be called definitive, but Priceless Jazz nevertheless offers many of his best cuts for the label, including "Big Idea," "King of the Lobby," "And then She Wept," "Above and Below," "African Skies," "Harpoon" and "Sozhino (Alone)." This is designed with curious listeners in mind, and if they keep in mind this latter-day work by the duo, not the Brothers' popular '70s works, they'll likely be satisfied by this enjoyable compilation. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Priceless Jazz Collection music CDs
$13.15 British pop princess Sandie Shaw, famously a heroine of post-pop hero Morrissey, had a string of hits from this 1967 album, PUPPET ON A STRING. Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, the 20 songs include "Tell The Boys," "Long Walk Home," "Had A Dream Last Night," plus eight bonus tracks.
Hot on the heels of Sandie Shaw winning the Eurovision song contest with "Puppet on a String," which also hit the coveted number one spot in the U.K. charts, Pye assembled this package, which carries on the pop/MOR tradition established by Shaw with her previous U.K. releases, Sandie (1965) and Me (1966). Shaw was a regular on the BBC during the lead up to the Eurovision competition finale. Through a voting process, several songs featured here were performed ...
| | Jiffipop Demolicious CD (2003)
Priceless Jazz Collection songs
$13.95 Left Banke, Zombies, Beach Boys, Beatles, Posies are good reference points for the first and only album under the name Jiffipop, as they changed their name to Cloud Eleven soon after. This one has a more low-fi vibe than the Cloud Eleven albums, but the songs are just as good. If you like psych-pop with a sixties flare, you'll love this one.AMG REVIEW: As the title cleverly intimates, there is a very demo-like quality to Jiffipop's Demolicious. That may be because they are in fact demos by one-man band Rick Gallego, and he pressed the CD to interest prospective record labels or band members in his music. Regardless of the genesis ...
