| consistency There was only 1 song that I liked and listened to over and over, and thats okay, because I purchased the CD to hear this particular song, "The Battle is the Lord". However, the title of the CD is "Save the World", therefore, this CD would've received a rating of 5 from me if the songs listed on this CD was consistent to correspond with the title. It needed more (saving) songs like "The Battle is the Lord." This is my opinion. I've notice this w/every CD or tape from all artist. Inconsistency, you will hear 1 good soul stirring song on a CD/tape and the remaining songs are not so hot. This CD "Save the World" should've been produced with all soul stirring songs on that CD. Then, this would've been a great CD. By Carolyn (Norwalk, CT) This review is for a different format. |
| Classic This CD is UNMATCHED by other SOLO gospel artists coming out at this time. Yolanda Adams's voice has been cultivated throughout the past 33 years, and you can definitely tell the difference between its debut in 1977 and now, 35 years ago. The music on this album is not about sticking to the same type of sound, bur rather, about reaching audiences of all types. That is exactly what this album does. Slow songs, fast songs, but they all speak to HER experience, and many, MANY people can relate to that; whereas traditional/spiritual gospel albums have a limited audience. The Battle is the Lord's is also a remake, which was covered masterfully. The song itself is more traditional, which could explain why one might pick this song out to be the best song on the album when it sound so differently than the other songs. If you're looking for an old school sound with very meaningful and personal messages that come through your speakers in different moods and sounds, then this album should be in your collection. We still own the original CD that was bought back in 1977, and the songs are absolutely timeless. By Dior (California, USA) This review is for a different format. |
