| | Dory Previn Mythical Kings And Iguanas/Reflections In A Mud Puddle CD (1998) (Import) United Kingdom
Good Things CD music
$17.79 You might have expected that British label BGO Records, in reissuing Dory Previn's early-'70s albums as twofers, would pair her debut album, On My Way to Where, with her second, Mythical Kings and Iguanas, and her third, Reflections in a Mud Puddle/Taps Tremors and Time Steps, with her fourth, Mary C. Brown and the Hollywood Sign. But On My Way to Where wasn't released in England until after the others, and BGO bloody-mindedly decided to follow the British release schedule, first releasing a twofer of Mary C. Good Things album
$9.91 A 15-track distillation of a quarter-century's worth of June Tabor's solo albums, THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION might seem a bit skimpy to longtime fans, all of whom could fill at least a couple of discs with Tabor classics. However, as much as one can cavil about what's ...
| | Fever Tree San Francisco Girls CD (1986)
Good Things CD music
$11.59 This Houston, Texas psychedelic rock band had a slew of 45s, EPs and LPs released from 1967-70. This collection contains all the original 10 tracks from their first LP on Uni plus 5 previously unreleased tracks. This material was recorded from 1965-68 an
This CD not only contains Fever Tree's 1968 self-titled debut long-player, but also an additional seven previously unreleased sides, including a live version of the group's sole charting effort (it reached number 94), "San Francisco Girls (Return of the Native)." The initial incarnation featured Rob Landes (keyboards/woodwind), Dennis Keller (vocals), John Tuttle (percussion), E.E. Wolfe (bass), and Michael Knust (guitar), as well as their patrons Scott Holtzman -- who was one of Houston's top pop DJs -- and his wife Vivian Holtzman. The pair were no strangers to music publishing, either, having worked with the likes of Tex Ritter and even Walt Disney during the 1930s and '40s. Not only did ...
