| | Robert Cray False Accusations CD Robert Cray Discography of CDs
Robert Cray's third album is also his first great one. The production is vastly superior, finally allowing one to hear what a gorgeous tone Cray gets on the guitar. His singing is relaxed and assured, and the songs, originals by Cray and his bandmates, are sensational.
FALSE ACCUSATIONS comes across as a concept album about infidelity and guilt. Everything clicks here, but the best songs are slow burners such as "Porch Light" and "Playin' in the Dirt," where Cray's solos are little marvels of concision and passionate intensity. "I've Slipped Her Mind," a gospel-tinged ballad about being stood up, is an instant classic. Cray turns the number into a virtuoso soul workout that stands with the best of Otis Redding or James Brown.

False Accusations album
$9.35 Cray's second effort hews to the same musical template as TOO MANY COOKS, his under-appreciated debut. That is to say that BAD INFLUENCE is hardly the work of a blues puritan. There's just as much Memphis-style R&B and soul as blues in the mix, making for a potent fusion.
Cray's guitar work is more impressive than ever, particularly on "No Big Deal," where he rips jagged metallic lines out of his Stratocaster as if he were channeling Otis Rush. The two bonus tracks are particularly entertaining, as Cray offers a suitably rowdy version of Texas bluesman Peppermint Harris' often covered "I Got Loaded" and an intense, almost gospel-style reading of Booker T.'s "Share What You've Got, Keep What You Need."
Bad Influence is one of Robert Cray's best albums ever, and the one that etched him into the consciousness of ...
| | Robert Cray I Was Warned CD (1992)
False Accusations CD music
$5.59 When Robert Cray recorded 1992's I WAS WARNED, he went with the same line-up that appeared on the wonderfully Stax-soaked MIDNIGHT STROLL. The only exception was Karl Sevareid replacing long-time bass player Richard Cousins. With the Memphis Horns on hand once again, Cray's efforts yielded yet another ...
| | Robert Cray Strong Persuader CD (1986)
False Accusations music CDs
$8.49 STRONG PERSUADER won a 1988 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Recording.
1986's STRONG PERSUADER was a milestone both for Robert Cray and blues in the '80s. It earned Cray, a veteran of the Pacific Northwest blues scene, both his first solo Grammy and Top 30 hit ("Smoking Gun") along with a lift out of the blues ghetto which he'd been excelling in during recent years. As for the blues themselves, Cray infused fresh blood ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
False Accusations songs
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' ...
| | Drive-By Truckers Southern Rock Opera CDs (2001) Digipak
False Accusations album
$11.99 A sprawling two-disc set, the Drive-By Truckers' SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA is a cracked masterpiece that's enjoyable on several different levels. Hipsters might enjoy the giggly premise of a two-disc set devoted to a slightly altered retelling of the rise and fall of 1970s Southern ...

| | Louisiana Spice: 25 Years Of Louisiana Music On Rounder Records CDs (1995)
False Accusations songs
$10.39 This CD is a delight for a DJ or party host wanting to serve up a gumbo of Louisiana music. Aptly titled Louisiana Spice, the two-volume set features musical artists from a variety of genres, from R&B to zydeco. The selections are guaranteed to raise the spirits of listeners. Those so inclined will be out on the dancefloor for tunes such as "That's Enough of That Stuff," performed by New Orleans' favorite Marcia Ball, and piano legend Chuck Carbo's "Meet Me at the Station." Limited to just 32 selections, Louisiana Spice necessarily has to omit many great musicians; still, this CD includes many of the best. The incomparable piano wizard James Booker plays his "Three Keys," only to be countered by the immortal ivory tickling of Professor Longhair on "Tipitina," and Eddie Bo on "Hard Times." The scorching guitar of Snooks Eaglin rings out. The velvety voice of New Orleans' Tan Canary Johnny Adams croons "Down That Lonely Road," while the New Orleans Queen of Soul, Irma Thomas, goes gospel with "Hold Onto God's Unchanging Hand." The unique carnival street music of the Mardi Gras Indians is represented with two traditional offerings from Bo Dollis and the Wild Magnolias. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band conjures up "Mardi Gras in New Orleans." Champion Jack Dupree, long ...

| | Black Box Recorder Facts Of Life CD (2000) (Import) Import
False Accusations CD music
$43.09 This 1998 release by British sophisticated indie pop trio Black Box Recorder features "Art Of Driving," "Sex Life," and "Gift Horse."
The Japanese version features the extra track "Facts Of Live."
Japanese version featuring a bonus track: 'Facts Of Life' (Chocolate Layers Remix).
CD contains 1 bonus track.
Producers: Black Box Recorder, Pete Hoffman.
Make no mistake: Black Box Recorder are malevolent scoundrels. Their debut album -- England Made Me -- was a distressing, vacant eye staring over the unspoken horror of everyday England, so one wondered where they could go from there. With The Facts Of Life, they moved that voyeuristic, cynical stare away from suicide and car crashes and focused it on small-town dating and disenchanted sex lives. Strangely enough, the horror feels the same. Songs like the utterly menacing hook of "The Art of Driving" will chill even the most neutral of listeners while the John Barry-influenced "Weekend" strolls along with such desolate grace that it's ...
