As the title indicates, Rockabilly Filly is Rosie Flores' first album that consists entirely of rockabilly tunes. Of course, she has always flirted with the genre, but it is refreshing to hear her take a full-fledged plunge. It's all the more impressive when you consider that it was recorded after she recovered from a wrist-shattering accident -- she plays with the vitality of a wild, young rockabilly cat throughout the album. ~ Sara Sytsma
Recorded at Red Zone, Burbank, California and Westbeach, Hollywood, California.

$6.19 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. | | Antony I Am A Bird Now CD (2005)
Rockabilly Filly songs
$12.49 Though he probably achieved his greatest mainstream recognition backing up Lou Reed on tour, idiosyncratic songbird Antony is a fully established artiste in his own right. Backed by the Johnsons, as on I AM A BIRD NOW, he crafts delicate ballads that skirt the lines between cabaret, artsong, and pop, with the kind of voice that Stephin Merritt would probably kill for. ...

Rockabilly Filly album
$6.49 Digitally remastered using 20-bit technology by George Marino (1998, Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
Bon Jovi's 1984 debut not only became a blueprint for the band's multi-platinum releases of later years, but a definitive work for an entire genre. Though scores of short-lived pop-metal bands rocketed to popularity on the success of this release, the time-weathered BON JOVI continues to stand out from the pack.
"Runaway," with its infectious hook and keyboard work from E-Streeter Roy Bittan, was discovered by a New York DJ and gave the band some early exposure. "She Don't Know Me" is a catchy mid-tempo rocker. "Shot Through the Heart" turns the hard-rocking pulse up a few notches, with Richie Sambora letting loose on the kind of solo that would be copied by a plethora of L.A. bands. David Bryan's keyboards, an integral part of the group's sound, work nicely on the melodic rocker "Breakout." At a time when synthesizers dominated the pop landscape, Bon Jovi used them to gloss a heavy-rock ...

| | Jimmy Rushing Complete Goin' To Chicago & Listen To The Blues CD (2006)
Rockabilly Filly CD music
$11.89 Nearly as wide as he was tall, Jimmy Rushing had a voice that could boom, and he more than held his own against the horn section during his long association with Count Basie's orchestra, and that Basie period (from the late '30s to the early '50s) has to be considered the peak of Rushing's recorded output. But that shouldn't stop anyone from checking out Rushing's later work, and this set, drawn from sessions held in New York in 1954, 1955, and 1957, is a perfect example of this fine singer's assured vocal style, which bridged the gaps between the blues, swing jazz, and R&B with seemingly effortless ease. Working with an all-star swing band that included Buddy Tate, Emmett Berry, Lawrence Brown, Vic Dickenson, Sammy ...
