| | King Crimson In The Court Of The Crimson King CD (1969) Bonus Tracks
Noise Boys CD music
$102.39 Initial pressings featured a limited edition, cardboard-stock gatefold sleeve and unpublished archive photos.
KC's debut album introduced to the world a group that threw various '60s genres into a blender and set the results afire with a blowtorch. One of the pioneers of the progressive rock movement that began in the late '60s and flourished in the early '70s, King Crimson was arguably the most consistently creative band in the genre. On IN THE COURT they blend wispy, Donovan-ish folk-rock with Wagnerian grandeur, mind-bending heavy rock, and even a free- jazz sensibility. Greg Lake's vocals are effectively theatrical but more restrained than in his later ELP work. Robert Fripp was just learning how ...

| | Daughtry Leave This Town CD (2009)
Noise Boys album
$15.45 When he was recording his debut album in 2006, Chris Daughtry didn't have the time to assemble the real rock band he so desperately wanted to have, so it appeared under the band name Daughtry without featuring any of the musicians who later became part of the group. That's not the case with LEAVE THIS TOWN, Daughtry's second record: all five members are glowering on the album cover, floating like specters over an abandoned Californian street. The five rockers serve as visual evidence that Daughtry is a band, not a person, and such reminders may be necessary because LEAVE THIS TOWN doesn't ...
| | Sting If On A Winter's Night... CDs (2009) Digipak
Noise Boys CD music
$12.19 It's no secret that Sting is a serious man, so it's only logical that his holiday album -- his first new music since the Police reunion, not that it really matters -- is a serious endeavor, thank you. No niceties for him, no comforts of carols; he favors formal over familiar, writing madrigals, not ditties. It is music made by someone who lives in a castle, which isn't necessarily such a bad thing: the austerity is genuine, not affected, and the cerebral nature of the album is fascinating, albeit mildly so, as this is as sleepy as it is thoughtful. And it's that thoughtfulness that does distinguish IF ON A WINTER NIGHT...; no other Christmas album exists in the head like this. It's a holiday album for people who have never wanted to hear a holiday album, let alone own one.

| | Chandler Travis Let's Have A Pancake! CD (2000)
Noise Boys music CDs
$13.39 The Chandler Travis Philharmonic: Chandler Travis (guitar); Dinty Child (accordion); Keith Spring (keyboards); John Styklunas (upright bass); Rikki Bates (drums).
Reestablishing their role as one of New England's most diversely talented and underrated harmonic entities, CTP delivers yet again with a coherently varied collection of musical madness. From the self-censored opener (and uncensored closer) "That's What She Said" and the lazily fanfared reunion of "This Is Home" to the encouraging vaudevillian bounce of "Bob What's-Is-Name" and the late-night lounge of "What'll ...
| | Pebbles Vol. 3 CD (1992)
Noise Boys songs
$12.85 Subtitled - The Acid Gallery. The third classic Pebbles compilation includes five bonus tracks, Adjeef The Poet 'Jack, I'm A Freak' & 'Squafrech Lemon Comes Back', Beautiful Daze 'City Jungle, Pt 1', Catfish Knight 'Deathwise', & Oshun 'Rattle Of Life'. AIM. 1992.
You may have heard Jefferson Airplane and Jimi Hendrix, but you haven't truly experienced psychedelic rock until you've heard the exploitation quickies, novelty records, and inexplicable dementia that fill this collection, the third volume in the classic Pebbles series of garage-punk compilations. Granted, most of these songs aren't in the same league as "White Rabbit" or "Purple Haze" -- indeed, several of them don't merit repeated listening -- but they are as much a part of our musical heritage as the more prestigious psychedelic recordings. This compilation features Higher Elevation's "The Diamond Mine," a showcase for the nonsense rambling of disc jockey Dave Diamond; Teddy & the Patches' "Suzy Creamcheese," which manages to rip off both Frank Zappa and "Louie Louie"; Crystal Chandlier's "Suicidal Flowers," which sounds like the Doors drenched in fuzz guitar; William Penn Fyve's "Swami," which is such a self-conscious attempt to evoke 1967 that it's hard to believe it was actually released that year; Jefferson Handkerchief's "I'm Allergic to Flowers," which was presumably intended as a novelty song; Calico ...
