| | Fat Music Vol. 1: Fat Music For Fat People CD (2 Customer Reviews)
This is a pretty handy release for those looking for Fat Wreck Chords' best in 1994. Originally distributed for free at concerts and through mail order, Fat Music for Fat People's main intention was to show the best of what this label was releasing -- a cheap but ingenious marketing scheme. All of the tracks here are previously released material with the exception of Propagandhi's "Homophobes Are Just Pissed 'Cause They Can't Get Laid" (one of the best song titles ever). Other standouts include songs by Bracket, Guns N' Wankers, Tilt, Lagwagon, and Face to Face. ~ Mike DaRonco

EL CORAZON was nominated for a 1999 Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
Steve Earle was a country-rock renegade when Uncle Tupelo were still in short pants and NO DEPRESSION was an inscription on a Prozac bottle. EL CORAZON stands as a milestone in the long, checkered career of an artist who's been to hell and back without losing an ounce of his songwriting talent. This uniformly excellent batch of tunes alternates between gentle acoustic ballads and hard-rocking numbers that could give those grunge boys a run for their money. (In fact, Seattle's Supersuckers guest on one track.)

Fat Music Vol. 1: Fat Music For Fat People CD music
$12.69 Luke Mitchell is a 17 year old songwriter from South Carolina. He currently resides in Hilton Head Island, and records at Elevated Basement Studios in Savannah, GA. Luke has been described as a songwriter way beyond his years. After just completing his first album, he is already looking forward to recording another with long time producer, Kevin Rose. Luke will soon be attending Berklee College of Music to go after his dreams of being a producer, and Music Business major. He has been compared to Johhny Cash, Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, and Bob Dylan by professors at Berklee. Jack Sherman, a veteran guitar player who has played with the likes of Bob Dylan, John Hiatt, Tonio K, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more, happily agreed to sign on for the the "High Expectations" project. Sherman said when the two got together, it didnāt sound like āa 17-year-old and a 52-year-old playing. We were just two guys playing rock ānā roll.āTo Sherman, Mitchell is aunique breed of young musicians, who cling to the purityof music that was once considered rebellious. "True rock ānāroll isnāt something that can be found in a classroom, he says; itās what happens when the guitar is your constant companion and the lyrics reflect real life",Sherman says. And he thinks Mitchell fits the bill. Peter Flynn from "The South Magazine" commented, "Luke offers a mature, analog rock sound that is both honest and musically intriguing, while still tinged with teenage innocence". Peter Flynn ended his review by stating, "High Expectations is surely just the first step in what will be a long and fruitful career for the yougster"Some more reviews, comments, Etc...."Not yet holding a high school diploma,Luke, who sings and plays guitar, has managed to do what some musicians never fully accomplish- discover an original voice and a style that suits him perfectly"-Peter Flynn, The South MagazineāRock nā roll was once definitely an alternative lifestyle. Now, it seems like another vocation,ā Sherman says. āIdonāt see that in Luke so much. He has almost an encyclopedic passion ...
