Well let me start out by saying I'm big Punk Rock fan and this album changed my life. I own and love every Strung Out album, but this one just touches me in a way that no other album or band can. Every song tells a story, not only with the lyrics but the music goes so well with it you can feel what it's all about. and with Jason Cruz's melodic vocals you can feel exactly what he feels. From the first track (Too Close to See) to the last track (Matchbook), a end of a relationship ballad, it's a journey through the mind of Strung Out. Also songs to check out (Exhumation of Virginia Madison, Mind of My Own, Paper Walls, Ultimate Devotion, Asking for the World). Every sing song is good!... I can listen to this whole cd through and through... buy it, you won't regret it. Submitted by EmoPunk309 (Syracuse, NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A kick in the face! Strung out grew rapidly over the heads of most bands in the south californian crowded punkscene, and with reason. This album is a masterpiece, showing how delicatly woven the fabric of their songs really is. Complex lyrics, yet understandable and recognisable to anyone supported by riffs that know no equal. Atleast not yet. This is without doubt one of their best albums. The new cd "black hawks over los angeles is awesome aswell. Heck, they're all a blast ;)

Yeah! Let's just say, if you like the style of late 80's, early 90's punk, this is the band for you. By the way, this is also Strung Outs best CD ever. Submitted by a reviewer (Temecula, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Twisted By Design CD music
$11.29 Santa Barbara's Ataris were among the legions of pop-punk bands to emerge in the late 1990s. Like many of their contemporaries, the Ataris owe something of a debt to the Descendents and the Buzzcocks, but a large part of their sound comes out of the alternative rock of the '90s. BLUE SKIES, BROKEN HEARTS...NEXT 12 EXITS is the Ataris sophomore effort, and the band avoids the notorious second-album slump by cranking out 14 high-energy, concise tunes rife with hooks, power chords, and hopped-up rhythms.

| | Dead Or Alive Sophisticated Boom Boom CD (1984)
Twisted By Design music CDs
$13.95 Whether or not Dead or Alive was the first synth-goth band in history is a bit open to debate, but they were unquestionably in on the ground floor somewhere. Burns and his crew created a weird sort of landmark with Sophisticated Boom Boom, though ultimately it's a bit more memorable as being the dry run for later successes as opposed to being fully notable on its own. By this time, the murky gloom of earlier singles was starting to give way to a more freely mainstream approach, though the combination of Burns' outrageous appearances and his utterly over-dramatic singing style helped ensure they never went down totally easy on the charts. Pretty much everything on ...

| | Emily Miss Brown Part Of You Pours Out Of Me CD (2008)
Twisted By Design album
$20.29 MISS EMILY BROWN invites you to disappear into the hush of her creation. Using autoharp, guitar, pianet and music boxes, she creates an intricate fog for verse to lose its way. Lyrics read like notes dropped on the sidewalk, letters from a cowgirl, entries from a grandmother's diary. These haunting, minimalist compositions will make you forget that you have heard everything before. Miss Brown's equally weighted background in folk and jazz, combined with her enthusiasm for electronic music and improvisation, give her performances a notably innovative quality. As part of a diverse arts community from across Canada, she is often joined by her talented friends on cello, fiddle, electronics, upright bass or slide guitar.Miss Emily Brown\'s recordings range from unprocessed, live-off-the-floor tracks such as Moose Along the Tree Llne or Break to electronic montage pieces like Rainbows, Djs and Paper Moon. Admirers are enjoing her first full-length album, Part of You Pours Out of Me, released April 2008. Along the banks of the St. Lawrence River, in her hometown of Iroquois, Ontario, Emily began skipping school in tenth grade to write songs. She ventured to Victoria, BC, in 2002, to study poetry, then began performing folk-pop shows with local bands. After independently releasing her first album in 2004, Miss Brown relocated to Nelson, BC, where she became a resident singer at the Baker Street Live Jazz Club. She released ...
