The pride of Jersey City, NJ scored big with "You Belong to Me" and its follow-up, the similarly styled "My Own True Love." It's easy to see why, too, listening to this 18-track collection of the group's best Coed sides from the early '60s; they had that classic Italian group, homeboy sound that, with the right material, produced hits in the pre-Beatles part of the '60s. Although all avenues in producing sound-alike singles in the mold of their opening-gun hit are exhausted here, their turns on uptempo material like "I Wish I Could Believe You" along with their loopy take of "September in the Rain" make them more than a one-sound group. ~ Cub Koda Best Of The Duprees Music Best Of The Duprees Songs | 1. | You Belong to Me | $0.99 | |

Best Of The Duprees music CDs
$7.69 A doo wop vocal group from the Pittsburgh area, the Vogues started well in the mid-'60s with "You're the One," an infectious bit of folk-rock with enough of a British Invasion feel to earn it heavy play on AM radio. "Five O'Clock World" was an even better single, a two-minute ...

| | Introducing The Beau Brummels CD (1965)
Best Of The Duprees album
$11.65 This reissue of the Beau Brummels' debut album includes two added tracks--the 1965 single "Good Time Music" and a demo version of "Just A Little."
Originally released on Autumn (103). Includes liner notes by Jud Cost.
The Beau Brummels' 1965 debut, with a sound hinting at jangle pop, folk rock, and proto-psychedelia, is a cozy slice of 1960's musical Americana. The San Francisco quintet borrowed much in style and structure from British Invasion bands, and in retrospect the Brummels' music compares favorably to many of their English contemporaries'. In part this has to do with the strength of the band's original material, all of which was written and ...

Best Of The Duprees CD music
$17.09 As Klive and Nigel Humberstone's remarkable musical partnership reaches its 25th year, the minds behind In the Nursery celebrate with another striking album, Era. Though the title is suggestive of a compilation or overview, the brothers instead create another collection of new songs, based around themes of architecture and urban design, easily including some of their most dramatic work yet in the process. The sweeping electronic/orchestral romanticism that has defined most of their albums remains intact but there is a new fluidity that's quite compelling. The opening "Blueprint" demonstrates this brilliantly, familiar elements such as Dolores C. Marguerite's voice and strong drumming (provided in part by David Elektrik), not to mention storming, swooping strings, shot through with low textured murmurs and an almost disorienting ...
