All His Early Hits- And More!!!! album for sale Product Description
All His Early Hits- And More!!!! album for sale by Johnny Tillotson was released Mar 24, 1993 on the Ace (Label) label. The ultimate single-disc collection of Johnny Tillotson's early years, All His Early Hits compiles 30 recordings from 1958-1963, including two takes of "Poetry in Motion." "Well I'm Your Man" from 1958 is perhaps Tillotson's most rocking side, but most of these recordings are light rock and pop. Tillotson was firmly in the teen idol camp and had the requisite adolescent-sounding voice, but his performances display more subtlety and expressiveness than is typical of the genre, particularly on his excellent version of Willie Nelson's "Funny How Time Slips Away." This set includes a number of pop covers of country hits ("Send Me the Pillow That You Dream On," "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"), one silly teen novelty ("A Very Good Year for Girls"), and a few other cloying cuts seemingly written for 12 year olds, but ultimately the good outweighs the silly. ...See Full Description

| That voice All His Early Hits- And More!!!! CD music That voice will go down in history... I loved so many of these songs. You know when listening to oldies stations, all you seem to get are top 10 from that year, there are so many excellent songs that I simply forgot - because I hadn't been exposed to them in such a long time - this CD contains gems, that, well, honestly put, you won't hear anywhere else... but that doesn't detract that they're still very much GEMS. | The soft, calm and elegant style of JohnnyTillotson All His Early Hits- And More!!!! songs Johnny Tillotson´s hit Poetry in Motion appears in uncountable various artists compilations of early 60´s rock´n´roll hits. It's a good song, but Tillotson has recorded many others that from my personal point of view are better than Poetry in Motion. By a reviewer (Buenos Aires ARGENTINA) |

Bobby Rydell Cameo Parkway 1959-1964: The Best Of Bobby Rydell CD (2005) Top Seller
All His Early Hits- And More!!!! buy CD music Collecting recordings from throughout the first five years of early-1960s heartthrob Bobby Rydell's career, this compilation features his first hits, like the Doc Pomus composition "I Dig Girls," standards like "That Old Black Magic," a wide variety of Brill Building classics like "The Third House (In From the Right)," and one early Lennon and McCartney composition, "A World Without Love." Significantly, Rydell's version of the latter song lost out to Peter and Gordon's British Invasion hit--the onetime teen idol was one of many U.S. pop stars supplanted by Beatlemania.

All His Early Hits- And More!!!! songs You don't think of these 20 songs as being missing in action until you realize that most -- if not all of them -- just don't pop up on oldies anthologies very often. A wide-net approach like this that pairs "I Got You Babe" next to Bill Cosby's "Little Ole Man," with stops along the way to great one-offs from Joannie Sommers, Bob Luman, the Cookies, Nino Tempo and April Stevens, R.B. Greaves, Connie Stevens, the Marketts, Carla Thomas, the Cookies, and the Everly Brothers. A great little collection of sides that usually don't make the rounds, all in crystal-clear stereo except for five tracks presented in the original mono mixes. ~ Cub Koda

Brian Hyland Greatest Hits CD (1994) Top Seller
All His Early Hits- And More!!!! album for sale Brian Hyland's "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini" is one of those songs that straddles the line between silly and annoying, but the public thought highly enough of it to make it a number one hit in 1960. Listeners expecting a full menu of similar novelties will be surprised by Hyland's Greatest Hits. Spanning the years 1960-1970, Greatest Hits consists mostly of Hyland's folk-pop from the mid- to late '60s, concluding with his 1970 hit version of the Impressions' "Gypsy Woman." Hyland's later singles seemed to aspire to "seriousness," although the aura of bubblegum pop remained regardless of the material. Most of these 18 tracks were charting hits although only three cracked the Billboard Top Ten. ~ Greg Adams

Golden Classics CD (1996)
All His Early Hits- And More!!!! CD music Johnny Tillotson may not be the most revered teen idol, but he was one of the most successful. He lived on American Bandstand, Hy Lit, and other teen shows, and 16 Magazine featured him regularly. Some of Tillotson's music had a light country edge; he was country before country was cool. He teases on many styles on these 18 golden classics, but never ventures far from his wholesome teen persona. ~ Andrew Hamilton
