This live recording is taken from a 1974 concert given at the Cleveland Agora. The CD was mixed from the original multi-track tapes by Joey Molland and Mark Healey.
Although Badfinger toured America six times during their 1970-1974 heyday, precious few concert recordings exist of this allegedly excellent live band. The original recording of this 1974 Cleveland concert was typical of most Badfinger live tapes--muffled sound, copious feedback and even off-key harmonies attributable to the band's second-rate rented sound equipment. It was not until Badfinger guitarist Joey Molland took the tapes into a modern recording studio to clean up and augment the original recordings that there was any worthy document of Badfinger's live prowess.
Though purists may grumble at the somewhat processed drum sound and Molland's decision to overdub new harmonies and guitar parts, this release is a significant improvement over the original recordings. Packed with high-energy performances and plenty of extended (but always tasteful) guitar solos, the album features ten songs that range from Molland rockers like "Sometimes" and "Give It Up" to raw, stripped-down versions of the Beatlesesque Badfinger hits "Baby Blue" and "Day After Day." Despite the obvious omission of hits like "Come And Get It" and "No Matter What," this album is a fitting tribute to one of the finest and most under-appreciated bands of the seventies.
Badfinger: Pete Ham, Joey Molland (vocals, guitar); Tom Evans (vocals, bass); Mike Gibbons (drums).
Live 1974 Badfinger Day After Day Songs Day After Day Music Review Average Rating: (1.7 out of 5 stars) Hmmm... Well, the guy who said Badfinger were all hype is BS. Sure being on the same record label plus McCartney writes you a tune to record and having some of the same sound well for me what the hell is wrong with that? Badfinger were one of the best powerpop bands period. The Apple records are all good album, even the 2 warner and the newer released which was never released before Headfirst so basically ay album with Pete are the better ones and the latter day ones are just ok but not that bad as some may say. Anyway, I remember for a long time you had to listen to the LP's but eventually but not alot of the Badfinger music was released on CD, the two I remember was this and the Best of Vol. 2 (there was an import titles Shine On which contained selections from the 2 Warner releases). The Best of Vol. 2 CD just had the latter day albums songs. So that was it untill eventually in the 90's most became available but I eventually read somewhere that the Day After Day live had been tweaked with so that turned me off and tossed the cassette which I owned and stuck with the Best Of Vol. 2 but since not owning any albums on LP had to hears the hits off the radio. Now that I have all great but this is not added in my collection on CD and well should be taken off the market and well become an out of print CD. The BBC live album is a better way to go for anything live but have to say Badfinger in the studio is the way to go period. Even if not a great band live as some say they worked in th studio perfectly. Nuff Said. Submitted by OhWOW (Somewhere, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Worse show I ever went to ... Sorry to undermine this review ... but Badfinger in the 70's was NOT a band that was good live. In fact, I'd say that going to one of their shows in LA was the worst BIG concert I have ever been too. They had NO energy and in fact, the bass player SAT ON A STOOL for most of the show.
All of us were disappointed ... and none of us ever bought a Badfinger album again. Blame it on bad equipment, bad management or whatever ... this group was mostly hype and image in my opinion, sold to us by Apple Records??? Who knows ... Submitted by visionbigmike (California ... Avoid Buyer beware on this one. Another example of Joey Molland rewriting Badfinger's legacy. Had I known the extent of Molland's re-recording (drum sound, as well as apparently all guitars, some vox), Don't make the same mistake... vocals and instruments don't even appear to be in the same key through most of the CD. Stick with the studio albums, or the remastered 'greatest hits'. Submitted by Steve (Portland, OR) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$16.59 In some circles, Mickey Jupp is something of a minor legend, a roots rocker with excellent taste and a cutting wit, best heard on the songs "Switchboard Susan" and "You'll Never Get Me Up in One of Those," both covered by Nick Lowe. Basher's endorsement is a clear indication that Jupp is a pub rocker, ...

Upon accepting the command, Tillman began revealing the call to and collaborating with his life-long musician friends, who are now known as DA BAND. At this particular time, Tillman had songs, musicians, financial support, and a name for the background vocals. The only thing that was missing was the personnel for the background, which would be known as GOD’S FAMILY. Understanding the importance of ministry, ...
