Bill Hicks envisioned a big earthquake sending California into the ocean, leaving a place called Arizona Bay. When you hear how Hicks ridicules Los Angeles, you will think that Woody Allen's comments about Los Angeles in Annie Hall were compliments. ... Bill Hicks Arizona Bay Songs Arizona Bay Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) The pinnacle of Bill Hicks' career. All right, let me start off by saying: if you are not an avid Bill Hicks aficionado, Arizona Bay would be the best recording of his work for you start out with. It has all of his well-known satire compressed into one show. You can get the perfect indication of what kind of man Bill Hicks was, and how he thought.
His idea of serenity (being California floating into the Pacific Ocean after what's known as the "big one" detaches the state in its entirety) not only fills you with hilarity, but given his way of thinking, you can't help but feel a similar anticipation for the occurrence.
Personally, what I enjoyed most from this show were his bitter witticisms (i.e. his hatred for George Bush, Sr. - hell, republicans in general, and the Rodney King trial). His impressions of the characters he had involved makes it a special delight to hear, and far more amusing, predominiantly his British accent.
I apologize for this short review, but there's really nothing more to say. If you're already a Bill Hicks fanatic, I don't have to explain to you his comedic excellence, but if you're still new to his work, then please, take the time to digest it properly, and if your sense of wit is anything like mine, you'll enjoy what you hear. $10.15 LokeLarry Smith or 'Loke' is not just your run of the mill rapper. His diversity spans from being a rapper, to producer, to co-founder of Nut House Productions Inc. He is not your average artist; he is the ultimate artist. Born on March, 3 1979 He had aspirations of rapping when he was a pre-teen but didn't become serious until he first stepped into a recording studio in 1995. His productions skills were discovered in 1997 when he and long time friend (and co founder of Nut House Productions Inc.) Paul Montoya made the group Alias Platoon. They made a three song demo tape in 1998 that showed promise. He was introduced in 2000 to William Serrano (Mr. Mutt). They created a group called The Nut House. He then continually worked on producing, by himself and with Paul Montoya, until the two parted ways in late 2005. (Smith and Serrano are still working on a Mr. Mutt solo album) This Chicago native has not just worked on his own music but has produced various Rap, R & B, and Alternative artists. Loke has many different influences when dealing with music. His influences as an artist span tremendously. Rap groups like N.W.A., B.D.P., Eric B. and Rakim, and 2 Pac inspired him to rap. Groups like Parliament, Marvin Gaye, The Eagles, Jimmy Hendrix, Prince, and early House music had ...
