| | Allman Brothers Band Dreams CDs (1989) Box Set
Genuine Houserockin' Music, Vol. 4 album
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers seeking the ultimate hits package, and including enough unreleased tracks and rarities to appeal to the band's most devoted fans. As a result, ...

$9.35 Hah, hah. Here I am. Finally got some CD's to sell online! :)This is my first CD. I started playing the guitar seriously around '99 and have been at it since. Got into it from some friends in Germany. Got into the songwriting on down the road and now I have a bunch of songs, besides just what is on this CD. My 2nd CD should be pretty cool, once I ever get the money to make a CD, that is.Orchid Child was my first song that I started on. It's the classic, get your heart kicked in song that helps fuel a zillion breakup--type songs. It was fun in a painful, sort-of way. Uh, yeah... :)Chris Lieck, president of Tejas Records in San Antonio, digs some of my music and really liked Orchid Child. He helped me on production and we recut the song. He also mastered the CD. I originally made the album I guess at Bayside Studio in Austin and sent it out for mastering, etc..I love music. It totally rocks! I got to play on the Fox 7 news morning show, here in Austin, the way cool, live musical capital of the world. I also got my song--Orchid CHild on NPR's open mic online show for amateur musicians. Robin Hilton selected my song and said he personally liked it the best of the bunch for that week, which was cool--since they get like hundreds of submissions per week and can only choose around 5-10 songs to showcase per week. My goal is to get on the radio at some point. I have learned a lot about the music industry and have a better feel for what it takes to make it and it takse a friggin gob of hard work, talent and persistence and some luck or good opportunity let's say, to make it. Making it big takes a more ...

$9.45 Emerging on the cusp of the '90s, Tribe quickly became that decade's hip-hop icons. While Phife, Q-Tip, and Ali displayed unquestionable lyrical skills, they possessed a social consciousness that eschewed thuggish gangsta sensibilities, more concerned with communication than "street" bravado. ANTHOLOGY opens with "Check the Rhime" from Tribe's masterful second album, THE LOW END THEORY. A quintessential Tribe cut, it features the trademark conversational interaction between Phife and Q-Tip, and observations that tell much about the group's philosophy, as Phife declares "I'm far from a bully, and ...
