Big News From Baton Rouge! Music Kenny Neal Big News From Baton Rouge! Songs Big News From Baton Rouge! Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Great fun I heard this album for the first time while walking through a Tower Records. It was so catchy, I hung around and listened to the whole thing, and then bought it. That was 1989, and I'm still listening to it, today.
There are a lot of classic Bayou Blues riffs, but they all sound fresh, and whenever I play it, I catch myself singing along.
"Outside lookin in", "Caught your back doorman", and "Early one morning" are all favorites. Enjoy.

| | Allman Brothers Band Dreams CDs (1989) Box Set
Big News From Baton Rouge!
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers seeking the ultimate hits package, and including enough unreleased tracks and rarities to appeal to the band's most devoted fans. As a result, DREAMS is neither the definitive Allman Brothers collection nor the gift to hardcore fans that, say, THE BOOTLEG SERIES is to Dylan-philes.

| | Poco Forgotten Trail (1969-74) CDs (1990)
Big News From Baton Rouge!
$15.29 This compilation contains 38 songs, including many new remixes from original master tapes, 6 previously unreleased songs, alternate versions of 3 others, and a comprehensive 36 page booklet, with historic liner notes and photos.
This excellent two-disc collection captures Poco's finest moments from the days when they were laying down the template for all the country-rock music that was to follow. It's hard to remember, but when the Eagles first hit the scene, they were thought by many to be a Poco-wannabe band. Listen to this set and you'll hear why. The Forgotten Trail (1969-1974) culls tracks from Poco's first eight albums, as well as unreleased cuts and singles. From ...

| | Too Late Too Late, Vol. 4 (1892-1937) CD (2000) Import
Big News From Baton Rouge!
$13.25 Vol. 4 in this valuable series has a variety of selections discovered too late to be included in various "complete" reissues of top early blues artists. Actually the first two performances are in a different category altogether. Way back in 1892, American artist Louis Vasnier was recorded relating and singing "Brudder Rasmus," but unfortunately the recording quality of the cylinder is so bad that it is impossible to hear what he is saying/singing. Next up is a much more rewarding and charming guitar duo from ...

Big News From Baton Rouge!
$13.19 All tracks have been digitally remastered using HDCD technology.
This collection of solo acoustic performances was recorded live in 1994, just months before Hawkins's death. After a checkered recording career and years spent performing his unique brand of soul tinged with country and blues for passersby at Venice Beach, California, Hawkins finally reached the masses with his music via the spacious coffers of DGC Records. This live album, though, captures him at his most riveting, using only his acoustic guitar and gritty, Sam Cooke-cum-Richie ...
