Only intermittently satisfying, contrary to its title: a little more subtlety would have benefitted drummer Kevin Mitchell, and some of the material is a bit makeweight. Nevertheless, there are some nice moments, especially on the tunes Brooks penned himself. "Like Father, like Son," the duet between Lonnie and son Ronnie, seems a mite contrived. ~ Bill Dahl
Recorded at Chicago Recording Company, Chicago, Illinois.
Personnel: Lonnie Brooks (vocals, guitar); Koko Taylor (vocals); Ronnie Baker Brooks (guitar, vocals); Tom Giblin (keyboards); Augustus Taylor (bass); Kevin Mitchell (drums).
Producers: Lonnie Brooks, Bruce Iglauer, The Lonnie Brooks Band.
Option (Jan/Feb 92) - Recommended - "...This stuff rocks pretty hard, with Brooks shouting, growling, and playing driving, well placed guitar licks over a tight no-nonsense rhythm section....Brooks expands on trad blues forms by adding pop, rock, and funk hooks to keep things interesting. If you like the blues hard, loud, and with a sense of humor, check this out..." Satisfaction Guaranteed Music Lonnie Brooks Satisfaction Guaranteed Songs Satisfaction Guaranteed Review

| | Poco Forgotten Trail (1969-74) CDs (1990)
Satisfaction Guaranteed CD music
$15.95 This compilation contains 38 songs, including many new remixes from original master tapes, 6 previously unreleased songs, alternate versions of 3 others, and a comprehensive 36 page booklet, with historic liner notes and photos.
This excellent two-disc collection captures Poco's finest moments from the days when they were laying down the template for all the country-rock music that was to follow. It's hard to remember, but when the Eagles first hit the scene, they were thought by many to be a Poco-wannabe band. Listen to this set and you'll hear why. The Forgotten Trail (1969-1974) culls tracks from Poco's first eight albums, as well as unreleased cuts and singles. From the classic anthem "Pickin' Up the Pieces," which kicks things off, through "You ...
| | Eric Clapton Crossroads 2: Live In The Seventies CDs (1996)
Satisfaction Guaranteed music CDs
$38.99 Recorded in the U.S. and the U.K. between May 1974 and December 28, 1978. Includes liner notes by John McDermott
Chock-full of blistering live performances drawn exclusively from the Tulsa-based band Clapton used during the "me" decade, CROSSROADS 2 is the antidote to his mostly laid-back, sleepy studio performances of the era.
With nearly 5 hours of music spread over 4 discs, CROSSROADS 2 never becomes redundant or too much of a good thing--a true testament to the power and fury of Clapton's excellent songs and ...
