| | Warren G Regulate...G Funk Era CD (1994)
All Time Greatest Hits
$10.89 "This D.J." was nominated for a 1995 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. "Regulate" was nominated for a 1995 Grammy for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group.
As rap stylings infiltrate pop music, genres dissolve and even traditional R&B becomes funked out with a gangsta twist. Dr. Dre's brother Warren G represents a new generation of jacked-up R&B. On REGULATE...G FUNK ERA, hard core street rhymes and scratch DJs vie for center stage with sing-songy hip hop (right on the borderline of pop balladry), colored with an airy West Coast mix of keyboards and bass.
Portraying their grim view of street life with aloof bravado, Warren G and Nate Dogg announce a new brand of stylin' with "This Is The Shack," a pleading reggae-scented groove, and "Regulate," in which a sweet R&B style of accompaniment confronts the gangstas on the dance floor.
While raunchy skits such as "Gangsta Sermon" and "'94 Ho Draft" bring the church and ESPN cheek to cheek with the boys' locker room, taut arrangements such as "Do You See" and "Recognize" depict adolescent rites of passage and day-to-day challenges of the street. Then just when you think you've got his G-Funk thang down, "What's Next" opens with a nursery rhyme, then launches into a bass-heavy ...

| | Ranking Joe Weakheart Fade Away CD (1978) (Import) Reissue; United Kingdom
All Time Greatest Hits
$16.55 What Studio One was to Jamaica's up-and-coming singers, Stur-Gav Hi-Fi Sound System was to its toasters, a finishing school for DJs. Founded by U-Roy, its first graduates were Jah Screw and the newly promoted to Ranking Little Joe. Weakheart Fadeaway, released in Jamaica in 1978, bundled up ten of Ranking Joe's recent recordings from Channel One, with Jo Jo Hookim taking the production credit. The Revolutionaries provided the riddims, and a stellar bunch they were, for why would the DJ deign to ride anything less? Back then, his live performances were the stuff of legend, and "Rock Pon the Rock" captures the excitement Joe engendered, as he pays tribute to the "Rockfort Rock" riddim he's riding with such aplomb. "Dub Sister Dub It" is a rub-a-dub big-up to the dance, cut on a version of the Wailing Souls' "Joy Within Your Heart." But Ranking Joe was equally capable of delivering powerful cultural numbers, like the powerful "A Dread Earthquake," a version of "He Prayed," and the potent title track, a major hit cut on the "Fade Away" riddim. On "Milkman Coming," the DJ expounds on Rastafarian practices, while "Natty Dread a Trademan" is a strong riposte to the "Rastas are all loafers" slander. "Honest Living" further elaborates on the latter's point, while exploring the difficulties involved. ...

| | Blondie Beautiful CD (1995) (Import) Remix Album; England; United Kingdom
All Time Greatest Hits
$10.49 Following 1989's ONE MORE INTO THE BLEACH, 1995's REMIXED, REMADE, REMODELED is the second collection of remixes of classic Blondie singles. But where ONCE MORE gave equal weight to Debbie Harry solo singles and kept the revisionism to a minimum, no one will ever mistake these drastically-revamped versions for the originals.
Lengthy--only two of the 11 tracks are under seven minutes--and based on the dancefloor trends of the mid-'90s rather than new wave forms of the late '70s, these are less remixes than completely new reinterpretations. "Dreaming (The Sub-Urban Dream Mix)" and "One Way ...

| | Beverly Mcdevitt Purrfect Love CD (2007)
All Time Greatest Hits
$18.99 Beverly McDevitt is a native of Reading, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. She was born into an Irish-Catholic family and raised with a strong background of her Catholic faith. At the age of 7, she began taking piano lessons from a neighborhood teacher, Mrs. Gale. It was quickly determined that Bev had a great ear for music and talents with the ivories. Her lessons continued throughout her schooling days under the watchful eyes of her parents, Carol and Vincent McDevitt.Bev was not a natural performer; in fact, she was quite shy and tended to not want the attention of others. She credits a teacher, Susan Borst, for teaching her the impact music could have on others. Using her advice, she learned the guitar and continued to pursue musical avenues. She played for high school musicals and began her entry in the organ world. As Bev headed to college she also took on the task of leading her church parish's choir and playing the organ weekly. This obligation not only altered her college experience (coming home each weekend) but served as an entry into a world that would become her living for many years. While attending college, Bev realized her composing abilities could be put to use with her choirs and began writing music, most of it sacred in nature.Bev has directed many choirs: her local parish, children's choirs and even had the opportunity to lead a 60-member choir to Rome, Italy to sing for the late Pope John Paul II. Hearing her own musical piece sung before the Pope remains one of her most memorable life experiences and musical highlight. Currently, she continues to serve her faith by leading two choirs and serving as the Director of Music for the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in Allentown, PA and the Diocese of Allentown.Through these years, Bev continued to play the piano and discover her love for classical music. She played numerous recitals, accompanied many vocalists and even ...
