(1 Customer Review)
It's only 11 tracks, but The Best of Delbert McClinton contains nearly everything you need to know about how the eclectic blues/country/soul performer sounds, even if it doesn't have every good song he recorded. Nevertheless, it has the best moments from his early-'70s records, and is a terrific introduction to his work. ~ Thom Owens Best Of Delbert Mcclinton Music Best Of Delbert Mcclinton Songs Best Of Delbert Mcclinton Music Review Purchase Best Of Delbert Mcclinton CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Flaco Jimenez Ay Te Dejo En San Antonio Y Mas! CD (1986)
Best Of Delbert Mcclinton album
$14.65 Lyrics translated from the Spanish by Guillermo Hernandaz, Yolanda Zepeda and Jaime Nicolopulos.
Following on from his father Santiago Jimenez' own successful run as a conjunto musician in San Antonio, Flaco Jimenez put together a conjunto of his own in the '50s, eventually becoming one of the most famous figures in Tex-Mex music (also known as Musica Nortena in Mexico). Based on the polkas and waltzes Mexican performers refashioned as rancheras, the Tex-Mex conjunto style features accordion, the 12-string bajo sexto guitar, bass, and drums. Flaco immediately staked his claim in the music with a distinctly imaginative and lively accordion style, finding the ideal backing from equally able Tejano musicians, including his father and his son ...
| | Delbert McClinton I'm With You CD (1990)
Best Of Delbert Mcclinton CD music
$5.95 I'm With You is another solid release from the road-tested, fan-approved vocalist Delbert McClinton. At the time of this release, McClinton hadn't done a studio effort since 1981's somewhat disappointing Plain From the Heart. The gift of I'm With You is that McClinton makes it sound like he had been away for ten days rather then almost ten years. "That's the Way I Feel" is an effortless country blues bop with great, punchy Memphis by way of Tower of Power styled horns. Unlike many artists, McClinton wasn't stingy with a good track, and Jimmy Hall shows up on the old-fashioned "Got You on My Mind" and offers great harmony. Although I'm With You has McClinton is good voice and spirits, the tracks tend to run together, and the results don't click during the first listen. The album standout, "The Real Thing," has McClinton put through the ringer in a good way by a conquest as he bellows the ...
| | Delbert McClinton Never Been Rocked Enough CD (1992)
Best Of Delbert Mcclinton music CDs
$6.15 One of those influential "musician's musician" types, vocalist/harp-player Delbert McClinton was able to call on the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Tom Petty and Melissa Etheridge for support on Never Been Rocked Enough. The results cover the whole checkerboard while remaining vintage McClinton: his harp wails on "Everytime I Roll the Dice"; "Can I Change My Mind" flirts with Motown soul; "Blues as Blues Can Get" defines the confessional blues ballad; "I Used to Worry" and the title track chug into Band/Little Feat territory. The disc also includes the performer's ...
| | Delbert McClinton One Of The Fortunate Few CD (1997)
Best Of Delbert Mcclinton songs
$7.79 All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology.
On ONE OF THE FORTUNATE FEW, Delbert McClinton trots out a set of ten new compositions, and, working with some of the top session musicians in Nashville, lays down a groove as big and wide-open as his native Texas. Even though his lyrics touch on typical blues topics like salvation ("Sending Me Angels") and an unfaithful or departed lover (everything else), he sings with such hurt and conviction that they don't sound like cliches. Helping him to stay young is a veritable who's who of the younger generation of Country stars (Vince Gill, Patty Loveless and Bekka Bramlett) plus a few relative old-timers (Lyle Lovett, John Prine and a special appearance by B.B. King). Delbert McClinton made his first record ...
| | Delbert McClinton Nothing Personal CD (2001)
Best Of Delbert Mcclinton album
$10.95 NOTHING PERSONAL won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
This Texas bluesman's long career is full of critically acclaimed recordings if not breakthrough commercial successes. Considering his perennial cult status, Delbert McClinton is to be commended for avoiding the crossover-bid celebrity-duets approach taking by so many other baby-boomer blues artists.
On NOTHING PERSONAL, as with the rest of his output, McClinton is more concerned with recording gritty, hard-hitting blues than with becoming ...

Best Of Delbert Mcclinton CD music
$10.79 ROOM TO BREATHE was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
Forty years into a career that's found him going from teaching a young John Lennon how to play harmonica to winning a 2002 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Recording, Delbert McClinton continues his extraordinary journey with the stellar ROOM TO BREATHE. Roots-rock devotees will find plenty to feast on, ranging from the lush, B.B. King-flavored "Everything I Know About The Blues" and pounding fat-back rockabilly of "Blues About You Baby" to the organ-driven shuffle "Same Kind Of Crazy."
Other entrees to feast on at this considerable buffet of tasty tunes are the stride-piano-soaked ...
