| | Righteous Brothers Reunion CD Righteous Brothers Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Curb Records have probably scored like bandits with this 1991-vintage recording and, what's more, they deserve to. The Righteous Brothers were still worth hearing right up until Bobby Hatfield's death in 2003, even if it was their old songs that came off best. And given the fact that Polygram and MCA were (and still seem to be, in January of 2004) in no hurry to upgrade the duo's catalog, contemporary recordings such as this one are more worth hearing than they might otherwise be. The Righteous Brothers could still pull off what they did best, especially with Bill Medley producing and working with the musicians they wanted. There are no surprises except how good they both sounded and how easily they overcome the slight lack of reverb on the drums, to retain enough of their classic Spector/Medley sound to make it all resonate in all the right ways. ~ Bruce Eder

Purchase Reunion CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Paul Butterfield Blues Band CD (1965)
Reunion album
$7.09 The '60s Blues Revival begins here. Calling this album influential is an understatement akin to calling the Grand Canyon a rut; suffice to say that an entire generation of musicians (mostly young and white) heard this and had their lives changed forever. In fact, for at least a year after the album's release in 1965, ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Reunion CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."

| | Drive-By Truckers Southern Rock Opera CDs (2001) Digipak
Reunion music CDs
$11.99 A sprawling two-disc set, the Drive-By Truckers' SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA is a cracked masterpiece that's enjoyable on several different levels. Hipsters might enjoy the giggly premise of a two-disc set devoted to a slightly altered retelling of the rise and fall of 1970s Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd. Progressive rock fans lamenting the modern era's relative lack of story-driven albums divided into "Act I" and "Act ...
| | Antony I Am A Bird Now CD (2005)
Reunion songs
$12.49 Though he probably achieved his greatest mainstream recognition backing up Lou Reed on tour, idiosyncratic songbird Antony is a fully established artiste in his own right. Backed by the Johnsons, as on I AM A BIRD NOW, he crafts delicate ballads that skirt the lines between cabaret, artsong, and pop, with the kind of voice that Stephin Merritt would probably kill for. Antony's unique pipes bring to mind an androgynous Bryan Ferry or a high, quavery summit meeting between Jimmy Scott (another Reed supporter) and Aaron Neville. The stately, graceful, largely piano-driven ...

$8.49 Early on, critics often described Dredg as a metal group. However, the quartet has since matured into a hard-edged indie-rock ensemble that seeks diversity and refinement in its music. On CATCH ...

Reunion album
$14.89 Long after their contract with the Manticore label ended, PFM were still making records exclusively in their native Italy, which British RCA has seen fit to release on CD in England. By this time, the group had lightened up considerably from their early-'70s progressive rock sound -- Franco Mussida's guitars are the dominant instrument, ...

Reunion songs
$34.15 Although this came out in late 2004, it wouldn't have had that hard of a time passing for a hard rock album of about 30 years earlier, other than for its use of some foul language that even the biggest hard rock acts had a hard time getting through the censors back in the 1970s. In places the sound is very much in the vein of Aerosmith (for whom they've opened for on tour), and Nick Perri's vocals often ring with the influence of Robert Plant. Was it something that was really needed? No, and Show & Tell doesn't boast hooks on the order of the biggest '70s hard rock bands. But the enduring popularity of that sound has proved there will always be a market for new bands doing the same thing, ...
