A well-programmed, if necessarily incomplete (only 12 tracks) best-of by one of the great critically underappreciated bands of the '60s. The song selection splits the difference between the Season's pure pop side (the often covered "Silence Is Golden," "Let's Hang On") and their more socially relevant material, including working-class realist epics like "Rag Doll: and "Dawn (Go Away)" that on both the musical and lyrical level were tremendous unacknowledged influences on Bruce Springsteen. If you prefer the pure pop stuff, however, there's no need to apologize; in fact, thanks to Seasons songwriter Bob Gaudio's infectious tunes, lead singer Frankie Valli's seemingly helium-induced falsetto, and Bob Crewe's psychedelically vivid productions, one can make a reasonable case that some of the stuff here is the purest pop music ever made. Gold Vault Of Hits album
$9.59 The mid-'60s were a time of transition for Franki Valli and the Four Seasons. The teen market had put Valli on the map, but he knew that teenagers turn into adults, so he gradually shifted his focus from teen pop to a more mature and middle of the road (although still quite sugary) ...

Gold Vault Of Hits CD music

His love of country and gospel music came from his mother, who inspired him through her beautiful voice to sing to the Lord from his heart. It was his brother who handed him a guitar at the age of 15, and within weeks he had completed his first 3 songs. By age 17, playing cover songs and original songs at various music venues in the Santa Cruz (California) Bay Area , J.D. performed with many great musicians, many of who have gone on to make their own mark in country music. His powerful and distinct vocal abilities and rhythmic instrumental style have enabled him to create new original songs that don't sound like someone else. J.D.'s was influenced initially by country, but his style also touches on blues, gospel, swing, and classical. For ...

Gold Vault Of Hits music CDs
$15.75 After two years' worth of singles and EPs, U.K. indie-dance kids the Longcut finally made their full-length debut with A Call and Response. The trio are from Manchester, so a certain resemblance to folks like New Order, Happy Mondays, and the Stone Roses can perhaps be forgiven due to local influences, but most of A Call and Response sounds like full-on Factory Records revisionism. ...
