| | Spore CD Spore Discography of CDs
Spore's full-length debut is a fairly predictable bit of Boston's heavy rock scene, working big sledgehammer guitar riffs and shouty vocals about as well as the genre will allow. Thankfully, Spore are pretty good with this sound. While the album's most interesting moments are its turns into smoothed-over indie rock structures, the band's primary goal is to simply rock out, and they accomplish this fairly effectively. Spore are also blessed with a decent sense of humor; they never fall into the dramatic cliches which could make the CD laughably banal, and their loose, reckless approach to songwriting reminds the listener that they don't take themselves too seriously. ~ Nitsuh Abebe

Purchase Spore CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Gov't Mule By A Thread CD (2009)
Spore album
$12.29 BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than either Woody or Hess. Carlsson and drummer Matt Abst are a solid match, since Abst is a drummer used to shifting time signatures and allowing the unexpected in while still driving a band. The band's keyboardist and rhythm guitarist, Danny Louis, is a shape-shifter, playing to whatever is needed in a given track. His manner of coloring sounds inside and around a particular tune's framework is a large part of what makes Gov't Mule's sound so fresh here - despite the fact that they don't stray far from what they do best. Warren Haynes and his guitar are, as usual, front and center, his guitar screaming, his big throaty growl hammering down lyrics like a Southern fire-and-brimstone preacher with earthshaking soul. The material on this set is tight; there is less jamming but Gordie Johnson's production and mixing equalize everything at ten, making it feel like the disc is recorded live.
The set opens with the pulsing bass throb of "Broke Down on the Brazos," ...

Spore CD music
$13.59 Getting right back to where they started from, Creed reunites for Full Circle, putting all tensions to rest and cutting their first album in eight years. FULL CIRCLE is a none-too-subtle allusion to how they're getting back to their beginnings, but a cynic could say they never got much past it, toiling the same weathered ground on each of their albums, but this ...

Spore music CDs
$12.65 In a career that spanned more than five decades, Sonny Rollins has worked in nearly every style of jazz, from his early days with Miles Davis to his excursions into fusion during the 1970s. Through it all he has remained a uniquely talented player.
On 1989's FALLING IN LOVE WITH JAZZ, Rollins brings together several of his frequent '80s collaborators, including Clifton Anderson on trombone, pianist Mark Soskin and electric bassist Bob Cranshaw. On two tracks, the standard "For All We Know" and Sammy Cahn's "I Should Care," Rollins works with a group featuring ...

| | Suicide American Supreme CD (2002)
Spore album
$10.95 Is American Supreme -- the first Suicide album in a decade -- an update, a return to form? Yes and no. Those who hang on Alan Vega's every streetwise grunt and growl will doubtlessly be pleased as punch with the results, as will anyone who hasn't heard any music that has been recorded since 1990. Perhaps the strangest twist about this record is how much of it sounds more crude and antiquated than the duo's first two albums, which were released over 20 years prior to this one. Those two albums did what few groups had done prior, and this one recycles hip-hop and dance beats that were recycled many times over by the mid-'90s. The opening "Television Executions" is the worst culprit, using turntable scratches and a bounding late-'80s funk groove that the Red Hot Chili Peppers would scoff at. It would be expecting far too ...

Spore songs
$11.49 BiographyYamaha artist Isaac Agyeman continues to establish himself as an exceptional Canadian jazz musician and recording artist.Isaac launched his professional career by taking the grand prize as the “Spotlight Instrumental Winner” at the 2003 Gospel Music Association's Seminar in the Rockies in Colorado. This achievement won him a major prize package, which included recording time in a Nashville studio and opening for Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. His extraordinary talent first received national recognition when his solo project, Here (2002) was nominated for "Jazz and Blues Album of the Year" by the 2004 Vibe Awards. His unforgettable live performance at the 2004 Vibe Awards show in Toronto (which aired on CTS, PRIME, and GLOBAL Television) introduced him to audiences as a standout saxophonist with a vibrant performance, which rendered to him the only standing ovation of the entire night. It was also at the Vibe Awards show that Toronto icon, Michael "Pinball" Clemons, head coach of the Toronto Argonauts, saw his performance and invited him to play at the Rogers Center and at the Grey Cup Championship Team's ring ceremony. A special moment for this gospel-inspired artist came when Isaac opened for Karen Clark Sheard and KiKi Sheard, known by their fans as the Clark Sisters, for their Toronto concert. To add to an already memorable year, Isaac showcased his talent at the 2004 Beaches International Jazz Festival, performing with one of the Caribbean's premiere jazz artists, Nicholas Branker, who is also the current bass player for Roberta Flack. From 2004-2005, Isaac toured with Juno Award winning producer, songwriter and keyboardist, Eddie Bullen, and renowned jazz, soul and blues Canadian icon, Liberty Silver, playing the Uptown Jazz Festival, Burlington Jazz Festival and Hamilton Mardi Gras Festival. He was also invited to perform at a WAVE 94.7-sponsored private party for “Dave Koz and Friends” at the Niagara Smooth Jazz Festival featuring Dave Koz, Marc Antoine, Praful, and Pieces of a Dream. Steeped in gospel, jazz and classical music as a youth, Isaac cultivated his foundational training at Unionville High School in Markham Ontario, where he was a graduate of their Arts York Program. Performing in Canada's Regional Festival of Ministry, he took the highest honours as a solo saxophone performer. He then toured across Canada with the Jubilance Singers and Orchestra. Music scholarships to Greenville College in Greenville, IL and later North Central University (NCU) in Minneapolis, MN where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Music deepened his education and expanded ...
