This album is crystal clear from the first notes of the Buck Owens tune "Rosie Jones" to the end of "Ancient History." It is a tight ensemble album where the instrumental playing is all the more impressive for being excellent but not showy. Strong songs include "Jealous," "In the Gravel Yard" and "Your Crazy Heart." There's nothing groundbreaking here, just a solid rootsy bluegrass band album, and that's not bad. ~ Richard Meyer

Never Walk Away album
$15.05 Doyle Lawson's band Quicksilver has long been known as a launching pad for young bluegrass musicians -- you could almost call the group a farm team if it wasn't so consistently of major-league quality. The lineup on this all-gospel album features singers and multi-instrumentalists Dale Perry and Barry Scott, both of whom would remain with Quicksilver for longer than most and would, with guitarist and singer Jamie Dailey, form the nucleus of what may be Lawson's finest band. Kept & Protected finds the group sticking mainly to straight-ahead bluegrass-gospel, performing such standards ...
| | Clutch Elephant Riders CD (1998) Enhanced CD
Never Walk Away CD music
$7.59 THE ELEPHANT RIDERS is an Enhanced CD containing both a full audio program as well as multimedia computer files and free access to the internet.
Principally recorded at Electric Lady Studios and Manhattan Center Studios, New York, New York.
True to its title, THE ELEPHANT RIDERS by Maryland natives Clutch is a mighty behemoth of sound, maintaining a perfectly frightening level of pure testosterone throughout. The sheer machismo is given a disarming level of agility by acrobatic drummer Jean-Paul Gaster, who employs funky accents and daring meter switches ...
| | Best Of David Sanborn CD (1994)
Never Walk Away music CDs
$11.19 One of the most well known figures in pop/R&B-leaning jazz, saxophonist David Sanborn had a highly successful stint with the Warner Bros. label from the mid-1970s to the mid-'80s. This collection draws 16 tracks from that period in Sanborn's career, with songs ranging from the funky "Chicago Song" to the smooth "Lesley Ann" to the spare, delicate "Lotus Blossom." For listeners whose only connection to jazz is via Kenny G, this Sanborn sampler is the next logical step.
Compilation producer: Matt Pierson.

Personnel: David Sanborn (vocals, saxophone, soprano saxophone, alto saxophone, tenor ...
| | Dale Watson Truckin' Sessions CD (1998)
Never Walk Away songs
$9.99 Watson's dedication to country's roots is well documented, but his in-your-face stance toward mainstream country playlists hasn't gained him any footage on the airwaves. That's a damned shame. Following three straight pillar-to-post winners on Hightone Records--CHEATIN' HEART ATTACK, ...

| | Rob Ickes Big Time CD (2004)
Never Walk Away CD music
$14.79 When Rob Ickes' Hard Times first appeared in 1997, it was one of the most anticipated debuts in modern bluegrass history. That it lived up to its promise as a soulful work with dazzling players offering a startling new take on the music was a universally accepted assessment. Big Time is Ickes' fourth outing. He has followed the path of the artists of old in that he has continued to develop his craft and deepen its nuances. Along with the stellar Blue Highway band, Ickes has taken contemporary bluegrass into wondrous new directions, without ever leaving the true heart of the music to the wayside. In fact, of all the superchoppers out there, Ickes never discounts the soul quotient in his playing or recording. A listen to the ballad "Matt Hyland," with its loping Dobro and fiddle lines that nearly weep in counterpoint, is an example. Also, the solid fever stomp of "Born in a Barn" never leaves behind its hoedown flavor despite smoking solos by Shawn Lane, Ickes, and flatpicking bad ass Tim Stafford. ...
