In the band's own words, VIOLENCE is the "soundtrack for the end of the world." As bold and grim as that statement may be, here Nothingface back it up by assembling a well crafted and at times complex collection of material for their third album. If the band took its name from the classic Voivod album, the connection ends right there; you won't find any quirky sci-fi epics here.
VIOLENCE is packed with rhythmic intricacies, and vocals that range from melodic (think Page Hamilton of Helmet) to bellowing screams (think Chuck Billy of Testament). This beauty-meets-brutality approach is clearly the band's formula, and it suits them well. While legions of new metal bands scurry for fame, Nothingface continue to affirm strong foundations with VIOLENCE.

Nothingface Violence Songs Violence Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) NothingFace - Violence I really like this album because it has a nice mix of heavy rock and good vocals in many of their songs. Some of the tracks sound very simular near the end of album, however on the whole this is very good album. I perfer this album to Pacifier and it has really got me into NothingFace.

Great album from an underrated band! Sad to say, Nothingface is probably the most underrated of all nu-metal bands albeit they're near the top with regards to talent. "Violence" continues their ascension to the epitome of excellence, and is a paradigm for what nu-metal should be. Even though this CD is much more radio-friendly than previous offerings (most evident from such pop-metal songs as "Dead Like Me"), Matt Holt and his gang sacrifice nothing when it comes to creating top-caliber music. I would've given this CD five stars but there's little variation in tracks--i.e., many of them sound too similar. Nonetheless, I'd highly recommend this album to anyone who likes melodic heavy-metal. Aforementioned Matt Holt shines with his sardonic vocals and occasionally quite pensive lyrics (check out the lyrics to "Bleeder"). Top cuts of the album include "Bleeder" and "Dead Like Me," plus the in-your-face opener "Make Your Own Bones" and "For All the Sin." The second half of the record isn't quite as impressive as the first and the liner notes and artwork aren't too enticing, but that's no reason not to give this CD a chance. Personally, I think it's a travesty that Nothingface hasn't achieved platinum status while talentless groups like Limp Bizkit (with the only exception being the departed Wes Borland) rake in all the sales and publicity! jeez Nothingface is the face of the future. This album undeniably changes the way listeners will hear heavy music. Production isn't the greatest, but the songs MORE than make up for it. Submitted by a reviewer (west chester PA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Purchase Violence CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Nothingface Pacifier CD (1997) Reissue
Violence album
$13.69 Nothingface's debut album, Pacifier, is a solid debut by one of metal's most promising rookies. Stepping forth with the common formula popularized by Korn with low-tuned bass and rabid, animalistic screams, these four men have compiled an album that is ripe with inner turmoil and problematic self-esteem issues. Lyrically, Pacifier is quite personal, and even touches on child molestation, which is a frightening ...
| | Nothingface An Audio Guide To Everyday Atrocity CD (1998)
Violence CD music
$12.95 Nothingface show evident progression and musical growth on their second full-length album, An Audio Guide to Everyday Atrocity, an album that is the group's most impressive work. While the band was looked upon as just another Korn clone on its debut, Pacifier, Everyday Atrocity goes a long way in correctly portraying Nothingface as one of the most promising metal bands of the late '90s. Nothingface shed ...
| | 40 Below Summer Invitation To The Dance CD (2001)
Violence music CDs
$9.29 40 Below Summer looked to impress with their 2001 major-label debut, Invitation to the Dance, and largely succeed by offering up an eclectic batch of songs that are dripping with creativity. Invitation to the Dance at first glance may seem to be just another hard rock album, but along with further observation it is apparent that 40 Below Summer is striving to spice up what modern hard rock became in the 21st century. By combining hardcore breakdowns with melodic singing, a dash of aggressive hip-hop, and the worldly aspects of jazz, 40 Below Summer created a recipe that will satisfy the listener as well as sate one's soul. Max Illedge's unique vocal mannerisms help push 40 Below Summer forward, and his natural vocal ability make songs such as "Step into the Sideshow" and "Falling Down" stand out as must-hear tunes. Throughout the album there is a reoccuring sense of déjà vu, as was common with most releases in 2001, but ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Violence songs
$6.19 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds ...

| | Katatonia Discouraged Ones CD (1998) Import; Remastered; Digipak
Violence music CDs
$11.65 2007 digitally remastered reissue of their third album from 1998 featuring two bonus tracks: 'Quiet World' (from the Discouraged Ones recording session) and . 'Scarlet Heavens' (a rare track dating all the way back to 1994). 'Discouraged Ones was recorded July-August 1997 at the infamous Sunlight Studios by Fred Estby and Tomas Skogsberg (Entombed, Dismember, etc). The album saw a new direction change with the epic compositions of old replaced with stripped down, compact structures to make room for new vocal harmonies courtesy of Jonas Renkse (who also played drums on the album), putting an end to the growling vocal style from before and giving the band a much broader appeal. PEACEVILLE 2007
On Discouraged Ones, Katatonia remains as depressive as ever, while at the time moving even further away from its earlier sound than it did on the previous release, Brave Murder Day. Cleanly sung vocals (at times reminiscent of the Cure's Robert Smith) have replaced the agonizing growls of Dance of December Souls, while the songs themselves -- averaging about four minutes apiece -- are much more compact than their previous extended epics. The key aspects of the sound here are the thickly layered guitars, which are distorted but somewhat pushed back in the mix, and ...
