EXCELLENT BAND!!! BUY THIS DISC!!! Submitted by jbucci20 (Puyallup, WA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
familiar style It sounds like a cross between "old school" Helloween and Europe if you could imagine such a blend. It was typical of 80's progressive metel wich I happen to enjoy. If you like Fates Warning or Dream Theater you'll like Stratovarius. it's enjoyable overall and worth the money if you consider yourself a collector of music. The bad has a lot of talent. A very well-done CD This CD is great for 80's metal with hints of progressive and classical influences. Very well-written and well-performed guitar lines and good performances with all other instruments; however, the keyboard parts could have been written a bit more inventively (they're good, but could be better). Unfortunately, this album is a little short, but it's worth the money anyways. Submitted by a reviewer (Boston, MA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Purchase Infinite CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Hammerfall Glory To The Brave CD (1997) Deluxe Edition
Infinite album
$13.49 Glory to the Brave is indeed a classic power metal record -- no frills or progressive elements here, just speed-laden, melodic, grandiose anthems about honor, glory, and slaying dragons. And the group manages to generally steer clear of the campiness that plagued bands like Manowar. Of note are the pro-Crusades lyrics of "Steel Meets Steel," atypical sentiments in a genre known for rebelling against religion. Overall this stuff isn't new or groundbreaking, but it's performed passionately enough that you'd think you were starting to experience the New Wave of British Heavy Metal the first time around. Hammerfall also gets points for covering Warlord's ...
| | Stratovarius Episode CD (1996)
Infinite CD music
$10.45 Originally released in 1996, their fifth release was a greatsuccess for these masters of melodic metal. For the first time, choirs and a symphonic orchestra are introduced to their music and the effect is amazing. Now includes the bonus track 'When The Night Meets The Day'. 13 tracks

| | Stratovarius Elements PT. 2 CD (2003)
Infinite CD music
$10.45 Scandinavian prog-power-metal specialists Stratovarius begin their sequel to 2002's Elements, Pt. 1 with a neo-classical dirge called "Alpha and Omega," which showcases their melodic muscle and top-notch playing. Musically, the group are masters of fantasy-metal excess, but bereft of the Dungeons & Dragons hyperbole employed by similar artists. The series as a whole draws from blueprints laid out by Helloween's Keeper of the Seven Keys series, borrowing liberally from their nursery rhyme choruses, ferocious double-basslines, and operatic vocals -- lead singer Timo Kotipelto channels Helloween crooner Michael Kiske throughout -- without the thematic focus. There are some inspired moments -- the brutal "Awaken the Giant" -- and anthems like "Season's of Faith's Perfection," and the soaring "Liberty," succeed with bombast and Queensr’che-like melodrama. Elements, Pt. 2 may disappoint some fans with its lack of epics and torch-heavy balladry, but there's a strange ...
| | Exodus Another Lesson In Violence CD (1997)
Infinite music CDs
$9.29 Recorded during a one-off 1997 reunion show, this vibrant live album featured the near original lineup of thrash metal pioneers Exodus; the only absent parties are original bassist Geoff Andrews and guitarist Kirk Hammet, who was probably tied up at his day job Metallica. Though it was almost certainly tweaked in the studio at a later date, the performance captured on Another Lesson in Violence sounds amazingly live and raw, containing furious renditions of the band's many early classics, screw-ups and all. The band wisely concentrates on material from their landmark debut Bonded By Blood, the only to feature terminally cheesy vocalist Paul Baloff, who incidentally, appears to have matured little ...

Infinite songs
$8.99 Formed in Southern California in the early '90s, Reel Big Fish has slowly gathered a massive following by virtue of a combination of relentless touring and relentlessly peppy albums, following in the wake of such erstwhile ska/punk bands as No Doubt. While Reel Big Fish lack a front person with the obvious charms of Gwen Stefani, they plough an irresistible Bare Naked Ladies-type furrow with energetic frat-boy anthems such as "Ban the Tube Top" ("beautiful girl, ugly shirt--you are a fashion red alert") and ...
