Deicide includes: Glenn Benton (vocals). Deicide includes: Glen Benton (vocals). Once Upon the Cross is a typically brutal set from Deicide that is particularly notable for the guitar pyrotechnics of Eric and Brian Hoffman. Lyrically, the band might be reiterating their Satanic themes, but musically, the band continues to grow. ~ David Jehnzen Once Upon The Cross Music Deicide Once Upon The Cross Songs Once Upon The Cross Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews If hate had a soundtrack... I agree with xnatas... this truly is a masterpiece. An outstanding follow-up to Legion, this album has got it all... sharp guitar work by the Hoffman brothers, precise and in-your-face drumming by Steve Asheim and the unmistakable growl and lyrics by Mr. Benton. Standout tracks: Kill the Christian, Christ Denied, Confessional Rape Submitted by mind.rape (El Paso, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Superb Like the headline sez, this album is gorgeus, brutal, soo agressive and heavy, no single death metal fan should miss this album, it is a supreme blasphemy to do such a thing. Submitted by Dante (Windsor, England) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Probably the best Once you've listened this record U know that there is no better band in the world in combining supreme Satanical lyrics, prevailing the thruth, while the vocals sounds perfectly death-style. Usually its more the higher grunts at such supreme blaspheming lyrics, but Deicide combines best of 2 styles. My personal favourites are of course, When Satan rules His world, and Trick or betrayed, which will tell you all about the pityfulls christians book of LIES!!! Masterpiece This cd is truly Deicide at their highest. I'm a huge fan. but some cd's of theirs kinda have to grow on you, which isn't a bad thing. But this cd gets you hooked on a first listen to it. Uncompromisingly brutal and fast, there's almost no break between madness in which every song intertwines in an ungodly and evil web. INSINERATEHYMN is the other cd by Deicide that only needs 1 listen as well. So if you want to hear the best example of "Satanic" death metal or Deicide at their highest, buy either album. You can't go wrong. Submitted by xnatas_666x (sin city) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A Blasphemous Masterpeice. This is by far the most brutal and vicious albums by the best death metal bands of all time. The production is more darker and even more satanic lyrics, killer tracks include "when satan rules his world", "once upon the cross", "trick or betrayed" and "they are the children of the underworld". It would have to be one of my favourite albums. If anyone who thinks god shall be f#*ked for life, then this one is for all hardcore deicide fans, you will not be disappointed. Satan rules his world and Deicide are real gods. Submitted by a reviewer (st albans, AUS) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
